I'm not familiar with the Nine Ball sports car. Sounds fast though, so I'd vote for that.

Hands down the Corvette, if you look at the current C6 line up, there really is a car for every type of buyer and even your base model car packs a punch. To me it's the greatest generation of Corvette ever built. Bang for the buck though since some of the cars on this list aren't new, a used C5 Z06 can not be beat. Performance per dollar the car blows every thing out of the water and since ls1x2 is bound to read this thread, electron blue 02s are the exception, color thief.

It is a well rounded well made machine for sure. But for all American icon that is the fact that everyone and their mom has had one, i still say Camaro. Just because of affordability.

Other than that, i hate having only 2 seats, only had 1 car like that, suuuukkks.

Pretty sure the Vette's gonna take this one.

As far as the Lotus... yeah, how did they get in the list?

I say the Corvette is the best American car, not just because I own a 74 Vette, but because they're fun to drive, pack power, and are head turners everywhere they go. Who hasn't wished they had a vette when you were kids, or even now? I just got my '74, currently undergoing a body on restoration, not too long ago and still haven't got to drive it. Can't wait till I'm done with it.

GTO isn't necessarily "American" made. Its Aussie made.

I do not define "best" by how affordable things are. Not saying that the best is always the most expensive, but rarely is a cheap/affordable item better than a higher dollar item. A Timex keeps good time, but is it better than a Rolex? Some cheap handguns can hit a target just fine, but are they better than a Kimber?

Nope

By my definition, F-bodies, GTOs, and Challengers are not sports cars. They are muscle cars.

Edit: apparently I have to say something useful instead of letting you figure out what I mean. I'm siding with "this poll fails because everybody has their own opinion" and also aren't F-bodies/Mustangs/Goats/Challengers considered muscle cars? Why is the Lotus Elise on this list? "Nine Ball is awesome!" was the obvious choice, since "Other" wasn't exciting enough.

Nope
This is exactly why...

I vote f body mainly because it is the only thing sports/muscle car I can drive comfortably im 6.6 with a size 15 shoe I don't fit in vetts or vipers.

I voted the Vette. I currently own a viper and to me the feel of the car is more like a new age muscle car. For pure driving experience and fun you can not beat the viper, the driveline is also leaps and bounds better then the vette.

For the average consumer the vette takes it though. Nicer interior, more comfy, pretty good at everything but not great at anything, etc....
