Exclamation Need help with ideas on which motor to build??

ok well my motor has taken a crap on me so it is time to build a new one. but im not sure what to build?? all i know is im going forged for sure. now since i live in california smog is an issue, more sniffer then visual. what i want is a real responsive rpm car with great mid range and top end. i will sacrafice some low end power. so is it smart to build a 383 stroker? the cam options im limited to would not let that motor reach its potential. so what other options do i have? stock cubes and good components? i am planning a big shot of nitrous and would love to go boost(turbo sts rear mount) cant afford a procharger. this car will be a street car. you motor builders help me out and everyones advice is appreciated

There's a lot of options out there, you might checkout our specials thread in the sponsors section. We have several short-blocks on crazy cheap specials right now. That being said it's best to talk with someone about what your doing & your goals for the car. If you get time give us a call & discuss with our sales guys your goals. We'd love the opportunity to build you a itemized estimate designed to meet your goals!

i wish i could go that big. but i cant because of smog. thats why im not sure about building a 383 cuz i would have to use a big cam which would not pass smog.

cool ill look into that. also i was planning on buyin a forged rotating assembly from you guys since i have bought all my other stuff from you. but i was wondering why is a 383 assembly cheaper than a 347? i was lookin at the kits that consist of callies crank and rods with diamond pistons. and if the 347 kit comes with a eagle crank(callies option not listed) why is it more expensive?
