Default anyone running livernois stage 3r heads on ls1?

i got a smoking deal on these and i was curious how these would work on a stock bottom end nitrous ls1.
the chambers have been opened up to 4.000 inch but it looks like they will still clear the headgasket.
the specs of the livernois heads can be found on their website... but basically its a 240cc intake runner with a 2.100 in valve and a 1.575 exhaust valve..

i currently run a set of homeported ls6 heads w 2.02 intake valve and stock exhaust valve. ported vic jr, 11.7:1 CR w/ a 238/244 .605/.610 110 lsa cam.
it made 448/388 NA and 556/559 on the 100 shot.

i want more power out of it NA and i think a professionally done race head will work a lot better for me.id like to see what it will make with the current camsaft, but im thinking of a new cam and the edelbrock pro flow intake manifold.

any feedback will be appreciated.

Watch out for a wet shot of NOS with the edelbrock pro flo. It doesn't do a nice job for fuel distribution.

I can't believe a 2.10 intake valve will work on a 3.90''bore.You could call Livernois and ask but I would think the 4.00''chamber is made for a minimum 4.00'' bore.

how does the car run on pump gas with that compression...what size cc heads are those milled too...are you running a stock gasket without flycutting...thanks a ton...

also i would leave the ls6 heads on, those valves and heads seem way to large for the 3.900 bore...

it runs really well. 12.8:1 AFR and 26* total timing. the throttle response is real crisp but i feel like the top end is lacking. the heads have 62cc chambers and they have been milled .030. i run a .040 thick head gasket, and the pistons have been notched to yield .065 IN .090 EX.

the car is pretty much being converted to a full drag car. the 4l60e is being swapped for a th400. i no longer care about low rpm performance and will put a big enough stall to accomodate the powerband of the new heads/cam.

i have seen people run the afr 225 heads on the 3.900 bore wit good results, and those heads have a 2.08 intake valve. i plan on eventually building a 408 for the car, but for the time being i want to try these heads and see wha kind of power i can make at 7+K rpm.

Oldguy99Z is correct, the stage 3R head requires at least a 4.00" bore.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you
