Default T56 rebuild

How much to do a stock rebuild on an LS1 t56. This is for a daily driver so no need for alot of power. Trans grinds going into gears and won't go into 4th gear. It will ony go into 3rd when power shifting. This trans is going in a conversion that I am working on.

Other than the basic overhaul kit, what will cost you on the rebuild are the hard parts. From what to stated above, I can tell you you will need 3rd gear, 4th gear (input shaft) and the 3-4 synchro. The failed parts that could have cause this could be many but most likely either the stamped steel keys or the plastic fork pads. Unless you want to overhaul your trans again in the future, I would strongly advise you to use the upgrade parts. Most people upgrade them for performance but the side benefit of using the upgraded parts are durability and longevity.

You can try LMR in Houston as well
713-466-9900....I think the basic rebuild is around $950 but I can't be too sure. If you ask for Scott, he can talk to you a little more about it. He's their t56 specialist....over 800 under his belt
