Last run of 2009 put my z06 in the 10s NA
Made 4 passes and progressively got faster...after my breakage earlier this year i didnt want to get greedy. Was launching at 3500 with a clutch slip while feeding throttle...the last pass I upped it to 4000 with a little more aggressive throttle feed and clutch release. Came out strong as my gearin is pretty good...nailed my 1-2 at 6900 nailed my 2-3 at 6900 short shifted the 3-4 at 6700 as i knew i had a good pass going and didnt want to bump the limiter like I did on the 3rd pass 3-4 shift...on the return road i seen thumbs up from a few friends so I knew I had it

2002 Z06 22,000 miles
Stock 346 short block with heads, cam, intake, RPM diff and trans, spec twin disk clutch which took a beating like a pro today. It was on 26 11.5 17 Et streets at 16.5psi cold GTO spares and MH racemaster skinnies up front. Safe 12.0 AFR 28 Degrees timing (I tuned it)...Im sure with a 1.50 60ft I could get 10.70s and if I powershifted possibly 129-130 mph. Im sure if I removed my sway bar it would help the 60 as well. Drove it there and drove it back...all is well with no strange noises.

no its real dave...remember me telling you i was going to go out and not go balls to the wall...i went out...focused on being smooth...smooth was fast for me...only took a 4000 clutch slip/throttle feed...no need to go super harsh on the drivetrain to cut a good 60 if you have good gearing and are smooth with your footwork. Im sure just a 4500 rpm launch and a little more aggressive clutch release/throttle feed would get me 1.5x 60fts...not sure what it needs to go 1.4x but I dont wanna start breaking stuff again!

I know,was just pulling your leg. Being relatively gentle and smooth is the only way to fly. It makes for good passes with minimized potential for breakage. Keep us posted...hopefully,the next time your at the strip will be an even bigger improvement in ET...think your MPH is just about maxed out though. :drive:

dave what kind of mph do you run? on motor and on the jug...i think with a few tweeks and good air i could eek out 130mph...not bad mph for a na stock bottom heads cam 346 huh?

My best mph NA was 127.48 and 138.64 on the nitrous. The set up was detuned to run the 11.00 index at Milan this year,so I didn't make any PB attempts during 2009. I intend to make some balls to the walls runs come next spring (April/May) when the air is good by Michigan standards. Hoping for 10.1x at 140+ with a 200 shot which is actually more like a 175 shot with the ZEX direct port (flywheel rated system)...I may even step it up to a 250 shot...we'll see.
