How much nitrous will stock ls1 hold
I have a l33 5.3 Im putting in a mustang, It has new gm flat top cast pistons stock rods with arp bolts stock crank, Head studs with cometic gaskets. Its a drag racing only car and i'm wanting to spray it 250 for the coming up season. I was wondering has anyone had any luck spraying that much. Im going carbureted spraying 150 out of the hole and another 100 when I hit second gear. I also have a nitrous cam xr288 236/242 590/595@50 112 lsa

There's people spraying a lot on stock bottom ends if the tune is perfect and using really good gas. I've seen one guy on here spraying a 300 shot on a stock bottom end with perfect tune and race gas, but he's more of the exception rather than the rule. I'd say a 150 would be a "safe" shot with a good tune. Check out the nitrous oxide section of the forums.

250 is a lot on the stock pistons. It may last a little while with a perfect tune but if you're planning to spray that much very often I would at least put some pistons in. There's a bunch of people spraying 100-150 with good results but 250 is pushing it.

IMO, I wouldn't spray more than a 100shot on a stock LS1. Your ring lands will thank you. Will the motor hold together while spraying a 150-200 shot? Yep. How long though
is the question.
I sprayed a few hundred bottles (100shot) through my stock LS1.

Yep. The ring-lands (especially #8) are the weak link. Depending on how the piston cracks, you could lunch your engine.
Having said that, I sprayed a stock-bottom with a 100shot for almost 4 years. I eventually pushed a head-gasket, but the engine looked brand-new when torn down. Threw in a forged 382 anyway and sprayed it with a 150shot. That car was stupid for a street-driven vehicle...
