Default Weld Prostars in 15x3.5...have they changed over the years?

This time last year I was running a genuine Weld Prostar up front in 15x3.5" with no issues. I sold those and recently picked up another set. The manufacture date is 2003 and these don't fit so easily for some reason. I'm going to have to grind or use a bigger than 5/16" spacer.

Baffles me as I thought it would be the same. Has the design changed ever? The ones I had last year were new, these built in 03.

The Weld Prostar is made the same way with the same equipment for many years. There should be no difference in this wheel compared to your older ones. Are there any visible differences?

I had very slight variations with two separate sets of rear 15x10 Prostars... Could be manufacturing tolerances.

there was a several-month gap between prostars, so I can't remember. I will have to do some spec'ing.
