Default LT1 car brake upgrade?

I am wondering what my options are for upgrading front brakes on a 95 LT1 6 speed formula ?
Any help would be great , I was thinking vette calipers but unsure of rotors.
Is there a thread dedicated to this?

you can pick up the front spindles/calipers/rotors off of a 98-02 car pretty cheap nowadays. that'd be a pretty nice upgrade with some good pads. you can bolt a c5 caliper right onto that, but they don't clamp as hard (although they don't spread as easily). you can also get brackets that allow you to run c5 rotors with stock ls1 calipers or vette ones.

whatever you do, get good pads. they're the most important thing. what do you do with the car? daily drive, autox, road courses? any idea of budget?

To put that in perspective ...

You can still lock up thetire at will. So, you really aren't giving up anything.

Creeper has the right idea. LS1 brakes are easy to swap in and if that isn't enough then go from there. I did it on my 97 and liked the way it felt after.

also take into consideration if you run the c5 upgrade you have to use 17in rims or bigger all the time. Now the 98-02 f-body upgrade you can use stock 16in wheels. I say go for the simple 98-02 upgrade. Its somewhat cheap and easy to do. Great results. I just did my car before i put it away for winter. the difference was night and day.

IMO the c5's are way overpriced. Its essentially the same exact thing, just a 1inch bigger rotor. I dont really think its cost effective.
