i picked up a roller without a harness/power and the driver side window is open a few inches, how can i raise it without the harness?? i tried cutting the wires and getting some speaker wire and hitting the other end with a car battery no luck... maybe the speaker wire is too thin??

No reason why this wouldn't work. You can overload a wire that is too thin for the application for a second or two without any problems.

Maybe the motor is toast?
