Default WTF is this ?

i took of the oil pan today to tap another hole for the second turbo drain because i am switching from a single to twin

and after i took the oil pan off i decided to look at the cylinder bores, and found this



how did this happen ? this motor only has around 6000miles on it

The reason I ask is it doesn't look scored. Probably caused by a ring gap?

your rings most likely had a burr on them when it was installed it is a common thing to see in a fresh when the rings are not correctly deburred. If it not too deep let it ride.

ive seen it before i couldnt feel it so i put it back together and ignored it no problems in compression

Ive seen it from many motors even with perfectly filed rings. Just feel it and see if it is deep at all...I'd bet its fine.
