Truck alternator wiring Is the truck alternators wiring the same as a ls f body? I have the bracket modified to fit in my car but need to know if the if the alt will work with a fbody harness and computer. Thanks guys.

They are wired differently https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...aq-thread.html However, I have heard of a couple of people only using 1 wire just like the f-body alt.....and it worked, I have no idea why, or if that will work for all truck alts though.

On my 2001 LS1, when my F-body alternator went bad, I just swapped an alternator I had lying around off of a 2002 5.3 and it works fine, just doesn't have the small bracket that attaches to the back of the alternator to the block. It's the smaller one, some trucks have an alternator with a bigger case that I don't think will fit.
