Best thing would be longtubes and catless y pipe and a catback or longtubes and true duals with no cats.

What year is the car? If its a 2000+ Just stick with the stock manifolds if you don't want longtube headers.

I've always heard shorty headers were a waste of money.

They are you might as well run 00-02 manifolds, they would be cheaper and give around the same gains...

I have a 99 model LS1 car....I bought the stainless ebay shorties for little to nothing and they fit like a glove with zero massaging to get them to fit. I teamed them with a custom made true dual exhaust with no cats, h pipe, magnaflow mufflers dumped at the rear end. I noticed a major increase in sound and performance from doing this....

Now I know im not making the full potential I could with a longtube but I have less money involved, easier install and better ground clearance than with a longtube....

do not waste your time on shorty's. save up and buy hooker or pacesetters lt's if money is tight. and stay away from ebay headers, you get what you pay for
