Default 370 Iron Block (GM crank or aftermarket)

I am in the process of having a 370 iron block built for a turbo application and completely trust the builders knowledge, but I wanted some people to chime in that have the same set up. Will it be fine to use the GM stock crank that comes with the 6.0 iron block and save the $800-$1,000 on an aftermarket crank and put it towards good heads or something like that? Any PERSONAL
knowledge would be greatly appreciated, and what RWHP do you make with the stock crank? Thanks!

unless you have plans of making pushing things to the limit there is no reason no to run the stock crank. Most people do. I am still running my stock crank and making 670rwhp prochargered. There are lots of stock crank 370 iron blocks around too

If this is the case then you should trust his decision on your crank. OEM crank is fine is most of the reason people build a 370 instead of 408.

GM crank will hold big power. I always run it unless more stroke is in order.

Stock crank here @ 737rwhp through a th400
Many guys have pushed the stock crank to 8's, but I bet that it will start flexing at this power level.
My goals are high 8's @ 3,200lbs, and I am not worried about the stock crank at all.
The stock L92's on the other hand......

I'm doing a GT88 turbo on a 364ci iron block setup with stock crank. Shooting for 1000rwhp and not worried about the crank. Get the main caps doweled/pinned to prevent them from walking around.

Plenty have been 1000rwhp+ without failure. To be honest with you it will be hard to find any postings on here about a failed stock crank in just about any application. Someone stuffed one in a twin turbo LSx race block setup and made 2000hp! It is on YouTube I believe.

Stock crank here as well. LQ9 iron block, pinned Katech main caps, and ARP head studs. Overbuilt for my purposes, but should be good well past 1000 hp.
