Default Nasty crash

CINCINNATI -- A car split after it crashed into a utility pole Monday afternoon.

The accident happened on Glenway Avenue near Rutledge Avenue in Price Hill.

The crash appeared to be very serious, but police say no one involved had to go to the hospital and the driver walked away with no major injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

At first glance it looked like there was two cars involved, completely missed the pole right above the passenger window on the first picture. Horrible looking crash.

I suspect speed was a factor.

Man, what are these 5th gen's made of, aluminum tin foils or something???!!! I guess a passenger would'nt have walked away, if there was one. Looks like that pole had sliced halfway thru the passenger's side.

If the guy just hit this pole around 50mph without braking, it could look like this...Gotta be careful in town!! Hes the luckiest man of the day.

disaster for this beautiful car, especially the color combo

It HAD TO BE RACING!!!!!there is no other way to explain a crash.. Racing was involved!
They where probably racing the pole, and the pole cut them off..

I've hit a pole doing 55 in a newer car and it didn't look anything like that... swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian and the mazda 3 I was driving came around and nailed the pole on the passenger side. I walked away, but then again I had a pretty good concussion. No one was "hurt" and yes, I was doing roughly 55mph at impact... had the cruise set on 65 and never hit the brakes... Not a fun deal.

Im going to take a rough guess and say he was upwards of 90 on impact... the new cars hold together extremely well and that is an insane amount of damage. They just dont come apart like the old cars used to...

Cars are designed to absorb the impact these days, so will come off worst.
Better they absorb the impact of the accident than your body or head!
