Default is there a HP to compression real of thumb

Say i run a head gasket thats a 4.15 bore and .053 think and my compression is 9.9 ...... And a 3.91 bore at .040 think is 10.35 compression

Is there a rule of thumb per .1 compression to HP


I run a ls7 head gasket now and was thinking about going with around about 3.91 x .040 gasket , now sure if the money to HP would even be worth it when the heads are off

a point in compression is roughly worth 4% power increase. this is not 100% accurate.
if you make 400hp at 10:1 power output could increase 16hp at 11:1

BUT here is where thats tricky, now that you bump up you compression you can now add a little more cam,head,intake which leads to Much bigger gains than 4%, I like getting max compression out of my builds as they always have awesome throttle response, better tip in, and better all around torque and drivability IMO

Of course you will increase power more than 4% when you add a bigger cam, better heads and intake along with more compression, but this thread is not talking anything about that.

All this guy asked was if there is a simple rule of thumb for power gains in relation to increasing compression which is ~4% per full point. What is the point in posting a bunch of off topic BS that can just confuse some people. I mean seriously.

Im pretty sure he is trying to get his post count up.Back to the topic I would say 3-4% gain for a full point.
