car running bad????
Ok guys I feel like crap posting this but I need to know, first off car is a o2 ss a4 with 25k miles on it. Now its mods are on my sig I. Also took my rear seat out and did a trans flush/sevice at the dealer. Now at the track it ran a 14.2 I think that's pretty slow, right? Or? I mean car feels fast but I guess its not..anyways my question is, is there any service I am not doing or need to do?I change my oil every 3 months with royal purple, zmax, and k&n oil filter. So I there somegthing I need to do? O yeah mods are coming, but stock I thought it was suppose to run faster

hmm, I wouldn't of flushed the transmission but since you did it already...
Any service history behind the car? Barely bought it? Mileage?
14.2 is kind of slow. Stock Fbodies get into 13s and your Camaro isn't stock.

Not trying to insult you but how are your driving skills? The first few times I ran my car at the track I was putting up a blistering 16.4x . Does your car have traction control (button on dash beside fog light switch beside the camaro placard)? Agian not trying to insult your intelegence but if it is left on at the track I don't expect you would turn very good numbers.

Uh the car has 25 thousand miles so pretty new, and mayb my skill s but for sure I do turn off the traction control. The car hooks good to, but top end I guess dies a little, but my trans fluid was dark when I changed it. Now that I changed it car pulls harder, I mean on streets I take off and of coarseit burns out in first and even when it hits second gear it gives a little tire squeek too.. I think at the track I take off late..that day I took it, it was 90 degrees out and I waited in line for about two hours...also car I am sec owner and came from ohio now running in vegas...in may it will be in new mexico

Well 90 degree heat and waiting in line for 2 hours probably explain that. When I did free ram air i discovered my car would run faster but also the hot air from the radiator would go directly into the air box causing my iat's to hit 130 and I lost a whole 5 tenths. Heatsoak is a bitch. You need to keep your hood open and get a manual fan switch. Also what is your DA? Trap Speed?

Well I still think the heat is your problem. Try unplugging your injectors one at a time while the engine is idleing. Listen to see if your rpms change while unplugging them and plugging them back in. If your rpms change then that cylinder is firing. Also while doing that try to keep your rpms up so its easier to tell the difference. This way you can make sure your running on all eight cylinders. Check to make sure all plug wires are firmly in place. I've had a time where i didn't put a plug wire on all the way and rode around for 2 months on 7 cylinders.

How about the obvious...
So I may not be a LS1 expert like most people on here, but I do know how to drag race. I just got my LS1 TA at xmas time so I haven't run it yet and not sure I really want to. But as far as your time slip goes, I would believe your 60 ft. time is kinda bad. Stock it has a 3.42 gear so you sould be lower the 2.0, and I know a few guys that just have 3.73 gears and they have an average 60 ft. time of 1.6 . What are you launching the car at? Any tire spin at launch? That heat surely killed you ET but you should definately be in the mid to high 13's with that car. Try putting a manual fan switch in so you can leave the fans running while the car is sitting in line and even putting a bag of ice ontop of the intake will help with heat conditions like that. And remember it's not how fast your car is, it's how well you can drive it. Practice makes perfect, you said first time ever? racing. Definately put down some track time before you get upset with your car. I don't know about the tracks by you, but out here we can rent the track for half a day on off days and it's a good time to dial in your car or get a good grudge match in..........06 Suzuki GSXR 1000..fastest time 9.42...undefeated!! just wanted to throw that in there for all you car guys. lol. Bikes are just way faster for the money.

as stated above a 2.19sec 60ft time is pretty BAD. then again you have sportline springs which are probably killing your weight transfer.
"Stock it has a 3.42 gear"
WRONG...
he's an auto. so he either has 2.73 gears or 3.23 gears.
the 2.73s could easily explain the lack-luster results.
and nobody asked this...what's the elevation of your track? +1000ft could have pretty considerable impact on the race time.
EDIT:
just looked it up...las vegas is ~2000ft above sealevel.
that's pretty high
using the elevation correction formula online, your time came out to 13.87sec. while still not GREAT...its a little more in line with what a lightly modded, high geared, poorly launching LS1 should run.

There was a little tire spin not too much, also I just launch off the brake. And I am not stressing it that much just because I am getting heads, cam, stall, rfear end, lts, ory, intake manifold, trans cooler, shift kit and gears I n april...so I should be good. O I am moving too

If your car is running fine then I wouldnt worry about mechanical issues, do you have an SES light by any chance?
I know the one and only time I took my car to the track is was pretty nerve racking and you could of easily done some sort of driver mishap, but not to add insult to injury I ran a 8.6 with only a few more mods then you and I left the TCS on (nerve rackin eh?). A4 gearing sucks especially if you have 2.73's, I would swap those out before anything else really.
