Thumbs up Dusted off the flaring tool and tubing bender

Fugured I'd share some pics of this simple set-up for a BBC. I spent way too much time on this one, but its been a long cold winter here in NH.

I'm not quite understanding what is going on there, other then it's a 4 solenoid system with about 3 times more line then you need to have.

A class that only allows 1 stage with 4 solenoids no progressive controller. . Wire the 2 sets of solenoids seperate so basically it was 2 stages. Turn on half the motor as per the firing order. The car wouldnt leave with the large tune-up it had in it we did this and the guy was extremly happy. And it has worked on 2 other cars also.

So you were spraying 1/2 the motor, then turned on the entire motor? That's a somewhat odd way of doing it... but if it works for your class then so be it.

N20GMC, I thought that was the most retarted DP set-up I've ever seen. But after you explained your class rules, its not so retarted afterall. Its actually pretty sick, I'm impressed.

Yes we didnt even know if it yould work but it runs like a champ and the motor doesnt even care. Of course this motor was a bit bigger than an LSx type motor, but im sure it would work on anything if done properly.

I will be plumbing a second fogger this winter. For the people that posted the above photos do you flow the system? Or is there rerally nothing to be gained other then a better start on the jet spreads?

Well to be honest, for a simple standard set-up like this, the only thing I do is hook it up and watch the n20 flow, to make sure everything works, and 'looks' even. There is no reason to stray to far from the reccomended jetting on this one, since it so conventional.

I did make myself a flow tool though for flowing the nitrous side. I've flowed some strange plates and DPs before.
What I did, (and this is not a standard practice, as far as I know) is I made a test box with nothing more than a timedelay relay, and a button. I then wire up the solenoids, and set the relay to 10.00 seconds. Then I heat soak a full 10 lb bottle to 1,000psi, and leave it on my digital scale, and let the system spray for 10.00sec on the bench. Then wirte down how much nitrous it used. Then repeat the whole thing again to make sure I have accurate numbers. Once you know the N20 used, you know exactly what size shot your dealing with, and how much fuel it will need.

I'll snap a picture or elaborate more if your interested.

Vinny that sounds like a decent way to figure it out. Now, if you have a matched set of jets, and did that individually for each cyl, (capping off the rest)you'd know if the distribution was good too... probably need a more accurate scale for that, or let it go for longer then 10 seconds.
