just cause its the biggest cam doesn't make it the right cam. some of the milder cams are better suited for most apps. But if money is tight, just hold off till your good. Do it once, Do it right.

You would be better off to buy the cam kit from TSP cause you gonna need springs and pushrods. If you arleady have the MS3 I would call TSP and get what PRC doubles they recomnmend and yes you still will need pushrods.
You would probally be better off leaving the motor stock and upgrade you suspention to handle the ls1 power. Quicker times anyway.

figure stock springs are good to about .520" lift

the ms3 is upwards of .600" lift

you do the math.

any cam that CAN run on stock springs isn't worth the effort!!

you need upgraded springs for any cam other than stock that I am aware of. Hell, even a ls6 cam you need atleast ls6 springs.

What he said.

Changing springs and push rods are part of a cam swap/end of story.

he might be able to do something budget like. what about some LS6 springs, there plentiful in the classifieds. and pushrods in the classifieds. the ls6 springs are good to 560 lift i think.

i bet if a guy really found some deals and did it on the cheap could get a cam/springs/ pushrods for 3-400 bucks...looking cheap.

Springs are easy to change..even in/on car..Took me about an hr maybe an hr 1/2 to change mine when I upgraded to my car. The Magic Stick cams sound mean..I have the MS4..Love the way it sounds..Makes OK power..I couldve shoped around more..Heads and more cubes I think would make me a lot happyer..but Bigger cams like RPMs..unless you feel like replacing the bottom end soon..I would go that big and turn it 7000 +..

Save your money..its not worth putting a cam it and going..do it right and do it once..

Get yourself a set of Pac 1518s ($190) good to .650 lift use you stock retainers and locks. If the motor is out it should be an easy install. Do yourself a favor and no matter what springs you upgrade to measure for correct installed hieght.

This cam aint happen with stock springs. You can run upgraded springs with a stock cam. But you cant run an upgraded cam on stock springs and expect it to last.

Locks and Retainers..I see..maybe...Not seats or bases I guess..on a high lift or fast reving engine..coil binding happends..broken rockers and springs..

Patriot has a set of dual Springs/Locks/Retainers everything..for $250. Some of the best springs I think..Had very good luck with their products..

Find a vendor that will make you a killer deal on the cam, springs(beehive), pushrods and ALL the gaskets you will need for the swap!
