Sam Houston National Forest Fun Run! Jan 23rd (Saturday). S! LS1Tech Members, Staff, and Guests.
Houston Performance Driving.com (HPD) will be hosting a great cruise through the Sam Houston National Forest on January 23rd, 2010. (Saturday). This is a great run with lots of backroad twisties and open stretches. After the cruise we will stop in Kingwood for lunch.
Here is the info from the HPD Forum:
The North Side Cruise has been set for January 23rd (Saturday). This will be a different route than before, so please take a look at the roads listed. Please join us for a good time cruising trough the Sam Houston National Forest.
I. Outline:
- The starting rally point will be in Tomball Area off 249 at the Silverado 19 IMAX movie theater. S19 has a massive parking lot. Please gather up on the opposite side of the lot away from the theater.
- Cruise the given route with 1 or 2 pit stops along the way. The run will take us up to Montgomery and then east to Cleveland. Return down 59 south to Kingwood for a meal.
II. Route: (Please Print)
- 249 NORTH to 149 NORTH.
- Turn RIGHT onto 149 NORTH.
- Turn RIGHT onto 1375 EAST.
- Turn LEFT onto 75 NORTH *only go 1 block to 150 EAST!
- Turn RIGHT onto 150 EAST.
- Turn RIGHT onto 1725.
- Turn LEFT onto 105 EAST.
- Turn RIGHT onto 59 SOUTH.
- Exit Kingwood Drive.
III. Cruise Speeds and Safety:
- This will be a spirited cruise. Please be safe at all times. Do not drive outside of your ability. This is NOT Forza 3! In open lite traffic areas speeds may increase. Please be advised.
- Set belts.
- Control your passengers.
- Use signals.
- Do not tailgate.
- Do not drive outside of your ability.
- No racing.
- Have fun.
III. Gear:
- 2 way walkie.
- Full tank of fuel.
- GPS.
- Dress warm and comfortable.
- Sunglasses.
- Lunch $.
- Camera.
- Hot female navigator.
- Your skills.
IV. Rally Point Time and Location:
- Meet Time: 9AM with roll out at 10AM.
- Meet Location:
Silverado 19 Imax Theater

We are a full go for Saturday. It is not going to rain so please join us for a blast through the National Forest. Should be under 2 hours long for those that have stuff to do the same day.
