Default General Exclaim UHP

I am currently in the market for some new tires for my 98 trans am. I have been searching a little bit and so far the general exclaim uhp seems to be a good all around tire at a decent price, and why i'm specifically interested in this tire is because I can get them from tire rack for 58.71$ a tire. Now my question to you all is how much does it usually cost to get tires mounted and balanced?
1. Im trying to decide if its worth getting the discount and having to pay the additional costs of shipping which is 42$ and getting them mounted and balanced.
2. Or just going to a bell tire, discount tire, etc... and getting a package deal.

Any input would be great, Thanks all.

I'm running the General Exclaim UHP's in 275/35/18 and I'm VERY happy with my choice! It was rated very well, the price was right, and the tread pattern is cool as well. I've had them since summer.

I paid $80 to have them mounted and balanced once they came in from the Tire Rack. You may find a shop that will do it as cheap as $60, but I insisted on finding a shop that had the machine that mounts the tire without touching the rim and those shops charge a little more in my area I've found.

IIRC, it was $50 for mounting and balancing my General UHPs.

I paid $158 each when I bought my 275/35/18's this past summer...and I also got a $50 Visa gift card with my purchase of 4 tires...I think they're up to $167 or so in that size now though... I got mine at www.tirerack.com If the OP is searching for stock sized tire, then the 245/50/16 is only $92 at TireRack, so maybe he has some sort of discount there too to get it for that cheap...

I run a 235/60/16 General GRABBER UPF on my Aurora and I like them. Great tire for the money, looks good, plenty of grip, and lots of miles. I think I got 40K on the fronts when I replaced them. $250 mounted for 2 new ones.

My uncle gets a discount on these tires and a couple others. And I would go wider than a 245 but I only have the stock 16 inch trans am rims that won't take a wider tire, safely. And at discount tire its 91$ to have em mounted and balanced with new stems put in and the old tires taken off. But thats the first place I have called.
