My fiance' said life flight landed right in front of her SUV. There was a girl that was in the car that had brain matter coming from her head, and the driver was telling everyone that pulled up to not call the police. What a shame.

By DALE LEZON HOUSTON CHRONICLE

Share Print Share Del.icio.usDiggTwitterYahoo! BuzzFacebookStumbleUponA woman was killed and man a was injured in what authorities say appears to have been a crash that involved a driver under the influence in southeast Harris County Tuesday night.

Tracy Adsit died in the wreck, which occurred in the 11000 block of Port about 5:20 p.m., investigators said.

The driver, whose name has not been released because no charges have been filed against him so far, was rushed by medical helicopter to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. His condition is unknown.

Investigators said that the pair was in a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro traveling westbound on Port when the driver veered from the road.

The car slammed into a wooden utility on the passenger side, where the woman was sitting.

The driver is believed to have been impaired by alcohol, drugs or both, investigators said.

Damn I work right there at the Port of Houston.. I didnt hear anything about it..
That road can be especially dangerous at night. we had a guy the night before Christmas eve drive off the end of the road into our back property at the port.. guy said he never saw the curve in the road.. as I was picking up, and moving the big yellow sign with a black arrow on it, that he had ran over, and knocked down..

Sad story. I'm surprised the media didn't call it a street racing incident since it was a sports car.

I went down there and looked @ it a few minutes ago. There are no skid marks, and it's right as the curve makes the turn. There are no marks in the grass. There is a big drop off. I assume he was going too fast and got to the curve paniced and went straight. Went airborne into the pole @ the edge of the rail road tracks. The bumper cover, misc parts, and a door panel is still there.

Is it right where the tracks cross Port Road, about halfway down Port Road?
I looked for it today at lunch, but like you said there where no skid marks to show where they ran off the road..

Yes, coming from Bay Area, it's right before the bridge where the road curves to the left. The pole is snapped about 4 ft. up from the ground. There is a blue cross on the pole to the side of it. Very sad for the innocent passenger. Angie said when they were @ the scene, the guy was definatly messed up on something.

Yep, the Camaro is back in full force, complete with the body count and all.

Not to sound overly morbid here, but I remember reading on the internet about all the interesting ways that people were killing themselves off in the 4th gen F-Bodies.

One particular story that I remember was a guy in a car who was in the right lane doing about 70 when a CETA passed him like he was standing still. The TA lost control, fishtailed across the median and got eaten up by the back axle of a 18wheeler aka 2Fast2Furious style. Car was annihilated, **** went flying everywhere and the passenger was pretty much put onto the pavement when the car ceased to exist around him. Guy said that he stopped his car, checked on the guy and then covered him up with the floormats that were nearby.

Yeah i went that way on the way home.. looked like the front nose piece or part of it lying in front of the pole.. looked pretty bad. no ruts really from the edge of the road to the ditch, looks like he went airborne off the road, hit the ditch and then up the embankment of the train tracks striking the pole..
that couldn't have been pretty.
