So I have a 10a-5p job Mon-Fri in an office. Well its just me and the owner of the company for the most part that are there. We dont have a fridge or a microwave and i'm tired of eating fast food every day. Not to mention its getting expensive and i'm gaining unwanted weight now, lol. So I'm wondering besides a ham or turkey sandwhich what can I bring that will be ok left out for 2-3 hours at a time until my lunch? Thanks

Wow... not having a fridge or microwave really limits your choices. Unless you like dry cereal and room temperature pizza, you might be out of luck lol.

depends on how picky you are. What i always used to do was microwave whatever i wanted and wrap in reynolds wrap in the morning and eat it at room temp or something later in the day. hotdogs, burgers, etc. normally wasn't amazing but i'm not a picky eater.

fruit is a good choice. apple, bananas, anything peanut butter as well. u can leave it outside and it wont go bad. hot dogs, burgers, pizza will be fine if you heat them up good and like he said above wrap them in foil and put them in a SEALED tupperware. the food should hold a good temp until ur lunchtime. not hot but somewhat still warm. i use to do that when i worked 3rd shift for many years and we didnt have a fridge or microwave either. salsa and chips are a good snack as well. but im not a very picky eater as well.

I bought a cooler for 10 bucks and two ice packs which are $1 each. I put in a salami or summer sausage sandwich with colby jack cheese and butter. Then I pack carrots, applesauce, chips, yougurt, whatever. Cookies or something else. It gets me by without getting too hungry.
I put the food at the bottom and the ice packs on top and everything stays decently cold.
Nuts and fruit are always good and better than anything fast food.

skip lunch, and drink a ton of water to deaden your appetite. thats how i lost 35 pounds.
you'll be hungry for the first week or so, but you will get used to it. eat a good breakfast tho...

Ummm....some good ideas in here that I havent thought of. I'm by far not a picky eater at all so I can def do what some of you all suggested. As far the PBJ sandwhichs, I do love them but I would have to eat atleast 3-4 of them to be good and it would only last a few hours until i would be hungry again. Also, I dont get to eat a good breakfest too often, maybe once a week so i know that hurts me there.
Keep them coming please.

i think you should stick out the 30 bucks and get a microwave for said office. That way you can have almost anything you like. IDK what you guys eat in new orleans but microwaved burritos from taco truck is not a bad thing at all.:chug:

Yea, i think that I'm gonna pick up a used one off of craigslist and i'll make him buy a mini fridge for drinks and stuff. We have a water cooler there but I like other drinks too, lol. I've ate some microwave burritos, they're not bad.

lol, its an office but we have a decnet size stock room and a room we use for an indoor shop. Its the entire 3rd floor (penthouse kinda) of an office building, about 1500-2000sqft total.

Really, you buy the microwave and have the boss man pony up for the mini-fridge. Both can be written off on taxes. If it were me and just a boss man we would be some grilling fools on top of that.

Buy multiple ice packs and an insulated lunch box/bag. Then you can take about anything you can name. Don't forget, lunch bags also can carry fruit and vegetables...
I have great luck with the Glad resealable plastic bowls in both round and square. They fit in the lunch box and clean easily, with plenty of room for multiple ice packs in varying sizes.

I am going to have to agree with what alot of other have said. Go to Walmart tonight, take $50, buy a cheap microwave, cooler lunchbox, and ice packs. That widens your choices big time.
I eat Subway every other day, which gets expensive. The days in between I bring a package of oatmeal, and a cheap frozen dinner. I was eating alot of fast food for a while like you, and put on a few pounds. We have a Sonic, Popeyes, Mcdonalds, and a Jack in the Box all within walking distance. It was so easy to eat that crap, but it catches up with you really quick. Once you cut back on that stuff, you gain alot of energy, and lose weight.
Eating food like oatmeal, apples, granola bars, are good snacks to get you through the day. Its kind of plain, but once you get used to it you won't go back to all that fast food because of how much better you feel.

C'mon man! You are from the New Orleans area like me. Remember Katrina, MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat). You can take them to work and they have their own warming system. I think I have a few of them left if you would like them?:D

I have a bunch of the resealable Glad stuff already so this could do.

I dont wanna buy a microwave thou, I wanna make sure the boss man will pay me back before I do but that also sounds like a good idea.
I have 4 fast food places and a subway within walking distance from me, it sucks, lol.

Try a bunch of different lunch meats. I used about 5-6 different types of bread with different meats and cheeses to keep it different. A lunch bag is cheap and can keep it good for the few hours you need to store it.
Fav was honey wheat, mustard, muenster cheese and honey baked ham. Loved that combo.

Don't be cheap man. A $30-$40 microwave will pay for itself within the first month.

Tell me about it. Its just so easy to do.

ive been taking this same breakfast/lunch for the last 2 months, and have not gotten tired of it yet. I take 2 propel waters and 2 regular bottled waters and put them in the bottom of my cooler. Then take a yogurt and granola bar for breakfast. 2 packs of fruit snacks for first break, and a Keiser roll (hard on the outside but soft in the middle) with mayo and honey mustard, with swiss or provolone cheese and pastromi or rare roast beef for lunch, with cheese and wheat thins. And I usually pack a second yogurt in there just incase im hungry throughout the day. All of the above is around 1200 calories which leaves you 800 for dinner. If your watching weight.

This. Tuna isn't that best tasting food but it is very good for you. High protein content, about 22 grams in one can and its very cheap, around 75 cents. Throw some bread and hard boiled eggs together and you have a pretty tasty and nutritious breakfast :chug:
Buy a cheap cooler and microwave like everybody else is saying too!!

I usually bring in a gallon of water or at least four seperate bottles and some carrots or maybe some pop tarts if I want something sweet to hold me over for the day. Lost 30lbs while everyone around me was gaining weight.

Back when I was in school I used to just re-heat what I had for dinner the night before and keep it in a sealed tuperware container. Granted it wasnt real warm by the time I got to eat it, but it was far better than what the cafeteria served. I also had a thermos so I would take soups or chef boyardee type stuff sometimes. Plug in chips and a drink and I was set till I got back home. I'm not a picky eater either so room temp was fine for me. I always had a good breakfast at the begining of my day though.
Or you could buy a microwave, and if your boss doesnt re-emburse your cash just keep it by your desk and dont let him use it lol.

This^^^...also if you're not gonna make the effort to eat a good breakfast, you might as well just keep eating bullshit all day. No breakfast kills your metabolism.
