How Do I figure out if I can do Cable throttle with my ecm?

Computer and motor are out of 03 Yukon XL
5.3L Vin Z
So I'd need a throttle body , and Iac ,and wire the Iac into the harness.

Motor is going into a foxbody.

As far as I know, this is something that can be changed by either a tuner, or a reflash from the dealer.

if its a red/blue PCM your good to go. If its a Blue/green PCM you need to make sure it has the IAC drivers. https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...-throttle.html

Wow i get more confused, the more searching I do. That post basically said blue/green pcms don't have the iac drivers. but on a couple other post I was told you can flash a van os into a blue/green silverado pcm and be fine(05 ecm). I guess the gen IV ecms' don't ahve the drivers. How can I tell if mine has the driver? the pcm i have is out of an 05 silverado and has a part number but no serv number on it.

I am 99% certian that you pcm will work. You will have to flash an OS from an 02 silverado into it. You will have to license both vins though if you use HPtuners.

Only some of the green/blue PCM`s have the drivers. Not sure how to tell without the service # though.

Are you sure about that? I haven't done this yet, but I was assuming that I could download a tune from say a 2001 F-body from the HPTuners repository and then do a "Write Entire" to the donor ECM - only requiring a license for the donor ECM.

I have done it on 3 conversions and could not get it to work any other way. I could have possibly done it wrong, but each time I tried it still wanted me to license both vins.
