I'm not too confident in any of these games except for the Pack beating the Cards.

Dallas worries me cause its hard to beat a team three times in a season but I really want them to win.

The Bengals and Jets game is a tossup in my opinion.

Now i'm a Patriots fan and the injuries scare me especially against the Ravens.

Jets @ Bengals... I really don't care who wins. But I'll go with the Bengles because they've had a hell of a tough year...

Saturday 8:00
Eagles @ Cowboys... I just don't see the Eagles winning. And sweeping a team three times in the same season happens more than you think. Since the merger in 1970 the opportunity has presented itself for one team to play the same team three times in the same season 19 times, of those 19 times, a team has swept the series 12 times. Pretty good odds. Better make it 13 times after Saturday...

Sunday 1:00
Ravens @ Patriots... Going to be tough for the Pats without Welker... At least they're playing at home...

Sunday 4:40
Packers @ Cardinals... No way in hell I'll be betting against my Packers!!

Jets - I don't think the Bengals were showing their entire hand on Sunday but that NY def is pretty darn good.

Cowboys - Dallas is playing too darn good to lose right now.

Ravens - I think that Brady will be taken out of the game by a big def play and will lose this one.

Packers - They will win for two reasons. #1 They are my team. #2 They are hot right now and have completely demoralized Arizona already.

Maybe, maybe not. We could be playing the Saints. Gotta make it that far first...

In the case of the Cowboys/Eagles, I'm very confident in that statistic. Cowboys are playing better ball and are the better team right now. If GB were to play Minn again, My money's on GB. They are a much different team than the previous two times the Vikings saw them. The Vikings are a different team too...

i agree with everyone above. picking games this week is gonna be hard, especially since we already saw 3 of them the past weekend. some of these teams are so Jekyll and Hyde, especially cardinals, eagles and cowboys. they play great one weekend and then like shit the next. but im gonna pick based on who is hot and playing good and who isnt. packers are damn good right now, and i hate to say it, but so are the cowboys. eagles are lacking on defense a bit. pats have too many injuries to do much right now. i have no clue about the cincinatti and ny game. both teams are solid, but i think cincinatti is gonna pull it off, just because they are at home.

Ok i'll show you an example: Bengals - 2.5 - 34.5 - Jets

The Bengals are the Favorite and the Jets are the Underdog. Look at it in this perspective, the score of the game already is Jets 2.5 Bengals 0 . The Bengals need to beat the Jets by more then 2.5 points. If the score is Bengals 17 Jets 14 You win. If the score is Bengals 21 Jets 20 you lose or if the Jets beat the Bengals (ex: Jets 24 Bengals 10) you win automatically. The Over/Under (ex: O/U) is 34.5. If the Combine score of the game is over 34.5 points you win (ex: Jets 21 Bengals 20 = 41 - Winner). If the combine score is under 34.5 points you lose (ex: Jets 14 Bengals 7 = 21 - Loser).

Hope this helps you, and im pretty sure i said this correctly lol

I don't think McNabb is very cute, but I have to agree, Rodgers is a handsome guy.

Seriously, McNabb would be nowhere near the top of my list. However, Rodgers is a great choice. I think he has a very bright future, and we will be talking about him for a LONG time to come.

bballr4567
01-08-2010, 02:38 PM
Well, like Ive said before, the money league Im in is VERY different. We can start ANY player that is playing this weekend as long as they arent on our opponents team. My opp. has McNabb not that I would of started him anyway.

So in short, you basically have to pick who, out of the whole league, will have the best game at their position. Its pretty damn tricky.

Juicy J
01-08-2010, 02:48 PM
Well, I would pick Rodgers if I were you. I think McNabb is a bad choice for your oponent. I don't see that game being very high scoring for either team.

So it's just out of the games being played this weekend? So Rodgers, McNabb, Brady, Sanchez, Flacco, Warner, Palmer, Romo?

Yeah, probably Rodgers or Warner out of those QB's.

Arizona is strong at home, Kurt Warnar has the playoff experience to back him up too... Rogers and the Packers are playing well but Rogers is on the road and doesn't any playoff experience..

Experience sometimes isnt worth shit. Favre has blown many a important playoff games. Yet, it doesnt matter, because Favre has won so many as well no one cares.

Not in the last decade has he been truely successful in the playoffs. In their 07 run Ryan Grant beat the Seahawks in the divisional round and Favre choked in the Championship game, just like every other time since 96'. I personally feel MUCH more comfortable with Rodgers at the helm right now than I would with Favre. He set a new Packers record this year with the LOWEST Int. ratio of all Packers QB's to ever play. Something like 1.43% of the time he'll throw an INT. That's impressive. The Packers don't turn the ball over. They've done it a league low 16 times all season. And they are number one in Takeaways, something like +40.

But of course now that I've said all of this they'll cough the ball up all game, not get one takeaway, and get blown out... :bang: Just the way shit works...

And I can't really agree with experience not meaning shit. Experience is invaluable.

These weren't 44 and 51 yarders eithe, something I could MAYBE give him some rope for, but....35 and 28 I believe?

To beat the Jets, you have to shut down their run game, and like many teams who didn't make the playoffs injuries plagued them to heavy and it caught up to Cincy.
This playoff experience is gold for Sanchez as well.

Dear Andy Reid,

RUN THE FUCKING BALL!!!!

Sincerely,

He is a one dimensional person and it doesn't take much for a good team like Dallas to figure that out. The Eagles have offensive weapons(Celek, Jackson, and Maclin) but when you are primarily a pass only team, all Dallas had to do is eliminate them from the equation.

This was no different from the Fog bowl of the late 80's early 90's where the Bears beat the Eagles because the Eagles were a passing team and it was so foggy out, they couldn't catch the ball. The Bears being a running team didn't have an issue.

well i was calling the jets and dallas but got to the thread late... for tomorrow though moneys on the patriots and packers.

My money is on the Patriots and Cards.

I'm a Packer fan but my gut tells me they are going to get lit up on the road in this one.. Kurt Warner (Pro bowl select) whom lit it up in the playoffs last year should deliver again at home in this one. The meat packer is also prepared and rested for this game..

Packers probably won't have an answer for Larry Fitzgerald either..

Should be a good high scoring game.:chug:

His practice reps, workouts and snaps were the same last week as they've been for the last 9 games according to McCarthy and Woodson.

They missed two penalties on the final two plays but it is what it is.

Leading with the helmet and a blatant facemask on the fumble.

As much as I like the Packers, the facemask was post-fumble, so all that would have happened was negate the TD. Arizona would have gotten the ball on the Packers' 31 yard line. Run 3 plays and if they don't score, they're almost guaranteed to be in fieldgoal range. It would have taken a turnover for GB to stop them, and the way their defense was playing, that wasn't going to happen. It would have been nice to see the Packers defense get a chance to show up in OT eventhough they were asleep or something in regulation.

Wrong. It would have negated the fumble and been a five yard penalty for incidental contact to the facemask. Down was 3rd and 5... Fresh set of downs for the Packers. And with both offenses playing the way they had been, probably would have been points.

Is what it is and the Cardinals won, but that's a pretty important penalty to miss...

^^^^Rodgers problem all year was he was holding onto the ball to long in the pocket.. Either he would get sacked or threw up forced garbage.. In time Rodgers will learn to get rid of the ball if the coverage is not their and that is when that Packer team will be championship material..

Although, I didn't see much defense on either side of the ball in that game from either team.. Two ways you can look at this 52-45 score in a playoff game. One, it was an offensive clinic or two, a defensive collapse..

Either way that was the best game of the weekend...

Yeah, they could have... but they didn't. Just the way it goes I guess. They've got a ton of talent and are on the verge of being a dominant team, just need to strengthen a few areas and tighten up some fundamentals. We'll see what the offseason/draft brings...

Oh and you were right, Rodgers had 5 TD's today... 4 through the air and 1 rushing...

The Packers need to draft some linemen on BOTH sides of the ball. They have great talent everywhere else but lack that one, most crucial spot. It killed them earlier this season and then they gelled in the later part but Arizona exposed them again with blitz after blitz. GB has proved they can draft very well so I wouldnt be surprised if they take an O-linemen first and then a WR to replace some of the aging at the position.

Just my take on it.

Yup. Driver is the only aging receiver they have. Jennings, Jones, Finley and Nelson are all 26 and under... They are the youngest team in the NFL. They've got loads of promise. Just need to wait and see if they make anything of it.

I don't understand how anyone can say the Saints, or the Vikings are going to blow anyone out. I keep reading that on alot of forums, and I just don't see how their fans can be so confident. I have no idea what team the Vikings or the Saints are going to bring next weekend. They could either be horrible, or fantastic, but how is anyone so confident in either one? The Saints haven't done anything at all lately. Sure the Vikings blew out the Giants, but the Giants are a team that fell apart.

The way I see it - The cards will be on the road in this one and in the dome. Warner and company may not be as efficient and comfortable as they were in this game

Secondly, Now the Saints obviously have the offensive to stay with the Cards if infact it becomes a shoot out which I don't think it will..

I can see the Saints being extremely fired up defense at home and that could be the difference.. Breese should lite up that Cards secondary for sure.

I think the Saints win this game handly..38-21 is my guess.

The Viking and Cowboys should be a crazy game.. Farve and Romo, AP and Austin, etc..etc..

That game could go either way really.. If the Cowboys can get a pash rush going and stop the run it could be long day for the Vikings and Farve. You just know Romo is going to continue to lite it up as he is in the zone right now passing the ball..

Cardinals and Saints could very well set a new record for points scored - both offenses are ridiculous. I'll take the hot team in that one, and call the Cardinal upset of the Saints.

Cowboys will have a let down game against the Viks. This game will actually have defense in it, but I'll take the Viks over the Boys in a closely contested game.

Colts are tough at home, even though the Ravens usually give them some trouble. The Ravens only chance is the running game, but they will have to take some shots down field to keep the Colts D honest. The only way the Ravens win is if they can put up over 30 points, and I don't think they can, so I'm taking the Colts.

Jets at Chargers will be an interesting game. The Chargers should win this game without much of a problem, but the Jets D is playing pretty well right now. The Chargers run game will dictate the outcome of this one. Chargers win in a close one, probably low scoring.

i also think the cards will upset the saints. the cards have a superbowl QB, a superbowl experience team, and if im not mistaken came as a wildcard to the superbowl last year.

the cowboys i think will beat the vikings. the cowboys are playing too good, and one of the best teams at stopping the run. the cowboys WR should be able to shut down the vikes WR and make the vikes 1 dimensional and the cowboys defense will get after the aging favre.

i think the ravens will beat the colts. colts have not been playing that great, and i think the ravens should be able to run the ball against the always suspect colts defense.

ill take the chargers over the jets.. but there is something about those jets!!
