Depending on piston to deck clearance with a 72cc head and .056" gasket compression is 12.1-12.4:1.

Definitely a killer deal here for someone. Does the 346 have valve reliefs?

The 346 does have valve reliefs.

I believe that with a 72cc head and a 51 gasket that it came up to 11.6 actually, but I will have to check all of my specs again monday morning.

Interested in partial trade for LS2 shortblock ?

damn I wish this would have been sooner. Had my ls2 shortblock on the stand for a few months gathering more parts to swap in.

No, you will not get the compression down into the 10s

I have had a few calls about it from different people so I will point out here that this IS NOT the shortblock for you if you want a blower. It is a high compression setup.

not looking to run a blower, justing looking to replace a damaged 5.3 in an 04 suburban but want bigger, i would be a little worried to run 11.5 compression as a daily driver and expect to use regular gas

I don't have a calculator with my (on my phone) but I would think it would be dang near 13:1, maybe a little over.

No, you can't. That would be a job for the AFR 225. With the higher compression and cubic inches, the 225 would be an awesome head to run.

I would like to know more about the 346. What kind of pistons and specs on em? So the crank and rods are stock from what I understood. How much power will this shortbock handle?

x2

I'd be looking to put some ported LS6 heads on this and some nitrous down the road? 150 shot?

It's not going to be any more weak than a stock shortblock for sure, so I don't see why a 150 shot would be a problem.

What would the 347 be able to hold? I have a magnacharger looking at 10 to 12lbs of boost do you think the stock rods would hold that?
