I would like to know this also.... I'm not liking the notchiness of my pro 5.0, its becoming a bit annoying during daily driving not to mention the shitty recentering spring(I know theres a fix for this)

I wish I could drive a LS1 with a Pro 5.0 shifter in it so I could compare. My MGW feels excellent though!

If you look on ls1tech you can find it. Its something about reinforcing the spring with a screw which forces it to recenter with a lot more force.

edit: found it for you; https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...heap-easy.html

Neither Am I. Had no idea it was the damn shifter though.

This car was my first 6spd with a shifter in it.. Had no idea it was the shifter being notchy

I love my Pro 5.0 but I've never driven a car with the MGW so I can't comment about that one.

I have been thinking about goin from my pro 5.0 to a mgw. is it really a much better shifter? the only thing thats worrying me is that the mgw has no bump stops, and i dont want to messs up he tranny on my daily driver.

JMHO, but I don't think the bump stops are needed on a T56. That may have been a design carry over from their T5 Mustang shifters. I've had the bump stops set to not touch for 9 years and have been banging gears with no problems. Now going to try MGW.

^^This, our T56 doesnt need the stops on the shifter, you can fully remove them & be just fine. If I remember there is a internal stop in the trans itself.

I had a pro 5.0 in my old formula. I have a MGW in my t/a now. The MGW is much better IMO. They also have amazing customer service!

Scale 1 to 100:

Pro 5.0 =78

MGW =99.9

Hurst =60

Factory =20

This is my own personal opinion tho... some may think differently

Had a Pro 5.0 on my TA for over two years and decided to go MGW. Best decision ever IMO. Not knocking the por 5.0 at all, it was a great shifter but the feel and tightness of the MGW is just ridiculous! It was weird getting used to it at first tho because I had the ws6 store short stick which was angled toward the driver, whereas the MGW isn't. But there is a huge difference in the feel of the 2 shifters. MGW coupled with a tick MC and you can bang gears like a Ranger (ok well not THAT good lol). IMHO if you go from a pro 5.0 to an MGW you will NOT be disappointed. But if you can find someone who has an mgw in their car then I suggest trying to figure out if you like it with first hand experience. Just my .02 cents
