This is all when car is warm and ready to drive.
IDLE: Around or just slightly above 40
CRUIZING: Around 60
WOT: Never looked, but close to or just past 60
This is just my observations on my 02 a4.

My 99 M6 Does the same as tdevil55s at idle/cruising, but at WOT it climbs up to nearly pegged as the RPMs climb towards the redline. I'm actually trying to find out if that's normal or not, should my oil pressure climb to like 80at WOT and high-ish (5k?) rpms?

I havent really done many WOT runs on mine yet, and when I have, I wasnt watching the oil gauge, but I would think that is normal. The more the engine is turning, the more the crank is turning, then the more the oil pump is turning, so this would cause the oil preassure to rise. Again, I really never paid attention to how high my preassure was at WOT, but I would assume it would go higher. Is this with a stock oil pump, or is it ported?

Yeah, mine does it every time, and now that I think about it it makes perfect sense. I've had the car since September, and if I'm doing a quick WOT burst my attention is usually split between the road ahead (90% of my attention) and the tach (the other 10%). So I never noticed it until a week ago when I was sitting funny due to sore back and it was more central to my vision when I looked down.
Glad to see it is normal AND I'm not the only one that freaks about little stuff like this

im having the same problem. turns out the pressure relief valve on my oil pump has a weak spring and is opening/closing at the wrong time. also fluctuates at cruising speed. thunder racing oil pump is going in next week

btw the stock pressure releif spring is set to 65 psi give or take. and yes it is normal for the guage to climb that high my High olume pump sets my psi at 60 on idle and the relief should be around 72 psi
