Default Another GXP Traded In for G8

I was sad to see it go, but I traded the GXP for a G8. I've only had the car a few days, but already miss the sunroof, heads-up display, heated seats, paddle shifter, and the nav system. The roar of the 6.0 pretty much makes up for all the little stuff though.

They gave me $13k for my '07 with 30k miles and they gave me an '09 with 8k miles for $25k. They're also paying an upholstery shop to upgrade to leather seats in the colors of my choice.

This G8 from wikipedia is the same color as mine:

Thanks for all your help over these last 3 years!

Bob

PS, still have the Grand Wagoneer - check out this page for lots of pics.

Congrats, nice price. Now buy some V6 tails, Vara-Ram intake, exhaust system, and a VMS tune.

Awesome about the seats! What are you gonna get black with red?

I was thinking red/black but am certainly open to ideas. Custom embroidery maybe? The only downside is that leather is pretty freaking cold around here in the winter. I'm REALLY gonna miss those heated seats.

Heated seats are wonderful.

I think the stock red/black interior would look best.

Nice.

I wonder if you'd be able to transplant the HUD from the Camaro (MY2010) into the G8.

Nice deal on the seats too! Maybe get some embroidery on the headrests or seats.

good choice man. It's the natural progression for LS4 people. I just got one myself. Why don't you just get a hold of the stock black and red leather interior? They're always on ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=g8+...1&_from=&_ipg=

The Camaro has a HUD? Don't remember hearing about that. The G8 is only 400lbs heavier than the GP and MC, and ~200lbs heavier than the Impala and Lacrosse...

Thats a pre-production picture, no camaro comes with HUD nor is it available from factory. Would be nice though!

just joined the club, traded my 2006 monte ss for black/black 2008 g8 gt a few days ago. my monte had 26,000 miles and got $12,800 trade in and bought the g8 fo r$22,500. I owed $15,800 on the monte which I forked over $3,000. I was looking at a 2005 crossfire srt6 which was sold upon arrival, then I saw that they had g8 gt in the lot.

I've been looking into getting a G8 GT actually, and trading in my car. from what I've seen on G8 boards, they do have a few issues here and there, mostly some suspension problems and vibrations and peeling paint. have you guys looked out for those things?

My step-dad's is a little over a year old and it's still cherry. He drives it hard too.

EDIT: Fixed the pronoun...

my paint looks flawless, the peeling paint issue also stems back when i owned my 04 gto, and I need never had any problems with it, I think it depends on the color. both my gto and the g8 are black.

the vibration issue from what i heard is the afm, my has a silght vibration when the transmission is on normal mode, but put it in sport mode, then it runs really smooth.

compared to my monte ss, the g8 is a step up in regards to ride quality and performance, but not an abosolute blowout. my monte ran very strong, reliable and smooth and embarrased alot of cars. the only part that the g8 greatly exceeds the monte is its modding ability and its 2 xtra doors.

Guess which was faster at the time.

G8 was stock, mine had intake and exhaust. The result WILL surprise you.

Until he got his intake and VMS tune...
