Default Good idea for me to move too 28" full slicks?

My 26" DR's are done so I will need new tires this year. I have the rear to handle full slicks now no problem so would I see some ET/MPH gains going up to a 28" tall tire and keeping the width the same (11").

Actually it would probably slow down. I doubt you're running out of RPM's now, right? So unless you plan to really up the power I'd stay with a 26" DR.

So is it the size? I would rather have a full slick if it will hook a little better and keep the size the same 26. Maybe drop a .1

Well I would go with a 26X10X15 ET Drag and have fun! I ran a 10.53 NA with the 26 inch slick with my Formula!

If you go with a taller tire without re-gearing the rearend you're essentially dropping the rear gear ratio (numerically). From your sig you have 3.70 gears, by going with a 28" tire without re-gearing, the car is going to act like you have 3.23's.

As stated already, if you're getting mid 1.5 60' times with the tires you have, I doubt you're going to do much better unless you're adding some power.

All things equal, if the hooks on a dr it should be faster on a dr vs. a slick. If you're having traction issues the slick may help, but I doubt it at your ET/power level.

DR will be faster, if the track is right and your car works, slick will make alot less track prep tolerable, and a less then perfect car also livable.

I'd put a set of 26.x10.5x15S tires on, the stiffer sidewall will help a little bit and keep the car more stable at speed.... and I'm sure that at your power level it will work. I have a couple cars that are running on an 8.5 wide 26 inch tire that hook pretty good, the 10 inch wide should be plenty of tire for ya.

thats the key point if you are dead hooking on a DR consistantly keep it...

when i was on my 26s i cut a 1.39 60ft but the track prep had to be amazing...i got tired of going to the track with average to crap prep so that is why i have moved to the 28" drag radial...it still needs average prep but that is usually attainable...

For some guys, it's not though. That, and the car may not be absolutely right, hence the slick will work out better for them. It's very car and track dependant though
