Default -Tire question: What would you do?

I'm looking to get new tires

fonts: 275/40/17
Rear: 315/30/18

now my question is what would be the better decision?

1. Get decent back/ decent front tires.

2. Get really good hooking rears / cheapo fronts.

Money is a big issue (being 17) and I don't know if getting crappy fronts would play a huge difference.

This is a Daily driver spring/fall and going to be 500hp car. car is also a 4L60E

Thanks for all responces.

my car isnt near 500 hp but i can relate being 19 and having my Trans Am as a DD. I went the good rears/cheap fronts. I have new Nitto 555Rs on the rear and worn down Firestone Firehawks on the front. I would go that route. Cheap fronts should be 80-120 each. Good luck with your search.

yeah last spring I just put 275/40/17 Fusion ZRi tires all around they cost like $110 each or something like that.

I bought OEwheels C6Z06 deep dish black w/machined lip and hopefully I can sell the ws6's with 2000miles on the tires to make up for the new tires im getting..

Depends...for a track car, I would say sure get cheapo fronts, but if you actually want to be able to corner, get some good tires all the way around,

well I don't plan on trying to outrun the cops..

I will leave the Bike for that

but a high speed on-ramp every now and again wouldn't be to bad.

for drag strip and/or just daily driving, just get good rear tires and whatever you feel like up front.

if you do auto-x/road course type driving, or really spirited daily driving, get better front tires, too
