I'm doing a bunch of stuff to the car this winter and finally adding a decent nitrous setup. I'm really curious what yall think I can pick up in the 1/8 on a 200 hit, thats what i'm starting out with at first. Lets say the car runs 6.40s or 6.50s ( I think it may go a little faster this year) on motor. I've been racing for years and I know if your dipping into the mid to low 6s then nitrous ain't gonna pick it up as much as if it was a 7.90 car.
Heck if it went 5.90s i'd be tickled. I think it may go faster if I can keep it off the bumper.

My car was running around the 6.80 (10.50 1/4 mile) on motor with an n/a converter... I swapped to a nitrous converter and am spraying the car with a single 65 jet (about 160hp worth) and the car now goes a high 6.0x to the 1.8th and 9.5x to the 1/4
I up it to 200 like you're saying, and it will see a 5.9 I'm sure of it. Sounds like you're a little quicker on motor then I was, you should be able to see a high 5 I'd think without too much stress. I was runnign the car n/a @ 3600, and it was down to 3350 last year, at 3350 n/a it probably would have been a 10.30 car n/a and I'd guess a 6.70 on motor for comparison purposes.

I have gone 7.14@96.1 1/8 and 11.19@120.8 NA
went 6.80@102 1/8 and 10.70@126.8 with 100 shot.
When I ran the 150 shot I had some wheel hop and spin and broke the trutrac. Got a spool in her now and going to see what the 150 will do in a week or so.
I am not quick but I have noticed that the faster you are the less the N20 will pick you up compared to a 13 sec car.

9.31 with HP converter.
8.57 with N2O converter & 175 plate.
60' was about the same, so if car hooked better, it should gain a little more.
You are 100% correct, it's takes a bigger hit to get the same increase the quicker you are.

yes don't it suck that once you go so fast you cant just spray a second away with a simple nozzle kit?
I've got a friend spraying a 2 stage, 750 worth on a big block "fox mustang," it runs 5.80s and takes all that nitrous to get into the 4s

It's definitely not easy to pick up .80 ET at my level.
Just look at P/S & P/M. P/S record is 6.25, & P/M is 5.88.
.37 difference, and it took 3 huge stages to do it.
12 seconds & it's easy, 9 seconds it's not too bad, 7 seconds and it's a major upgrade.

Went 6.20's on a 150 shot......
turned on a 2nd unit for another 150 on a terrible wheelie and lifting pass and went 6.05....
Got a clean pass in and immediately went 5.92.....
Put a new jet combo (twin 175 shots roughly) for 350 total. Best we whittled it down to was a 5.76@121
car goes like 6.9's on motor (roughly 10.60's)

As mentioned, it will depend on your tune, converter, etc. My Nova ran 11.45 at 115 mph last weekend N/A into a 10 mph headwind, and 10.15 at 129 mph on a 200 HP shot using a progressive controller (all in by .85 seconds). The converter is good on the motor but probably a hair loose on the bottle.
