You can't sell a perfect condition LS1 car with 150k on it for 4k, so why buy that one with all those problems? I say spend the extra 2 grand and get one with half the miles and great condition, forget about that one. Good luck!

with the car fixed right your lookin at maybe 2k, so 6k total and with 159k miles and unknown maintenance, motor might go in a month.......so would a month of driving it be worth 6k. ls motors can run for quite a while but unless i got a steal on a high mileage car like 150k+ i wouldnt do it.

maybe its just me, but parting cars out is not fun, and dealing with a bunch of low ballers who want good stuff free is the most annoying thing i can think of. by the time you half way part the car, your so annoyed you start giving stuff away because you dont wanna deal with it anymore.

I paid $3700 for my 01' z28. It had highway miles (178k) but the body, interior and paint were near perfect, and the engine/trans ran great.
Moral of the story.....Dont pay $4000.00 if you have to replace all that. What you described is a $2000-$2500 car. Look a little harder and you'll find a good ls1 car pretty cheap.
