Do I need to remove the door panel to get to these?

Damn, I was hoping it was possible to do without removing the door panel. Putting the panel back on seems like it could be a nightmare! Thanks

i broke a grill trying to get a speaker out with out taking the panel off, long story short you can't do it....i know it sucks

I know for the camaro's its an easy task, only 5 screws i believe (including the little mirror panel above the door panel). After you get all the screws out pull up on the panel to get it off then undo the switches and its off. Putting it on is a little bit of a pain, just remember to be gentle and line it up right and thats basically it.
I'm assuming the Firebird door panels are basically the same.

don't forget to pull up, if you pull out you can break the clips and then you are really f'd. Be gentle with it and you will be fine, remember also that in TA's the tweeter for the door speaker is on the little speaker above your main one so it is attached to the door with wires running from the handle piece to the main door. So once you get the door panel off don't just move it aside quickly or you can rip the wires on the tweeter, Its been a while since I replaced my speakers but I think thats right lol

Really pulling it off and putting it back on is no big deal, did mine in 30min.
