Default I had an audi lying around.. and a 5.3...

Bad things. very bad things. More to come (and my s10 build is getting back on track). My welders are wired up...

All I'm saying is the A4 is getting a th400 and a transbrake. Everything else is secret

One quick question, anyone have a good source for metripacks? I need the cam and crank sensors, maybe some coilpack connectors. I just don't want to pay $20 a pop for em. Suggestions?

Thanks!
Josh

Very interesting. Given the front axle placement on the car I am interested in seeing what you come up with.

Sticking with RWD, I don't want to deal with a weak (in my opinion anyway) drivetrain. It'll get an IRS 8.8 or 9'' center section in the back. Front axles are taking a permanent vacation.

Rob, I saw video of your old car, loved it. I used to have an e36 myself, I have a soft spot for them.

Before anyone talks about the merits of 1.8ts and 2.7ts, I'm well aware, I have a TT with a huge turbo. The a4 is just a bit too heavy for small displacement. 402-408ci > 109ci.

T,
Good selection there. I found some that might work on summit for $6 each, just a PITA for shipping on small stuff like that you know. I know local I'll never find them lol

PM sent.

nice thing with the a4 is the rack is mounted behind the motor. Not great for weight distribution, but it leaves lots of room for a turbo, no steering shaft to have a problem with!

Nice... nice... nice...

Nice...

The B5 S4 is one of my favorite body styles... just never wanted to deal w/ an aging twin turbo car. This... this is great. The only thing, how far forward does the motor sit due to the way the bulkhead is designed?

It's not terrible, the vr6 swaps sit way up, i need to get more pictures and get a mockup trans before I talk, bellhousing things might be fun.

I'll get some temporary mounts welded up so I can sit the motor in there and slap the radiator support on. I'm pretty confident it'll fit without too much trouble.

What's pretty amazing is the stock motor mount stands are almost in the exact place they should be for the lsx! Don't think I'm going to use them (stangely set up), but it'll be a good place to mount the new ones. More to come.

guruman is doing an ls6 swap actually, but keeping awd. I know the audi trans will not work for what im going for. To each his own though.

Those are GT40 replica headers with the 01a/01e adapter. Nice headers but the a4 isn't mid engined (yet?). Looked into it a few times. The black car has an SBC with a 200R4, pretty neat

Little update, got the shop more ready to roll today, put up some shelves, organizing tomorrow, finished the spark side of my wiring harness, got another swap car in the bay. A good buddys datsun z car. Has a potent little l28 now but we both like v8s a lot. He had a geared up camaro so we figure its the best of both worlds! I need to set up my drill press (i have a milling table for it) and get to work on mounts and so on and so forth. Until next time!!!
