Question '09 Impala - rear squeaks going over speed bumps

.......... and other road irregularities. A definite squeaking sound from the rear of the car most noticeable on the descent from a speed bump. Goes away if the car is wet. I have tried to isolate the cause and it's not the deck lid or anything inside the trunk. Tried bouncing the rear of the car by hand and all is quiet. Has anyone had this problem and found the fix? (Another person I know who has an '09 Impala has the same problem).

Sounds like your brakes are starting to go. Had the same squeak on mine, check your rotors and pads, the inside pads wear more than the outside so pay particular attention to there.

I had the same thing. It's the rear sway bar end links. They are worn out and loose. Grab them and twist them, they should not move much at all. Originals are very weak. Moog replacements are much heavier and are greasealbe.

They tried and couldn't. Since then I replaced my rear speakers with some Infinity Kappas so I had to remove the rear seat and package shelf. Now all back together and no noise and the speakers sound nice too.
