Default Red 93 V6 Firebird $16,000?

Anybody else see the Red 93 V6 Firebird that just sold on Barret Jackson with 67 miles for $16,000!
Some old guy won the bid, and I dare you to say "that was me".

I guess there's still hope for us yet?..

WTF?

and the 1990 35th anniv Tbird SC with only like 40k miles on it sold for $1650? WTF?

I'd take a 35th anniv Tbird SC over a base model V6 firebird any day (i used to own a 93 tbird SC)

Not something I would buy personally, but to each his/her own.

You nailed it! Probably got desperate after not seeing anything he truly wanted, and just picked a car that he was determined to leave with.

I don't watch that crap anymore. To many people with more money than brains, and all they're doing is making muscle cars out of reach for us regular folk.

exactly, and that craig jackson is a tool. here's my experience from being at BJ.

was there a few years ago and from what i've seen of Craig Jackson on TV, he's an elitist ******* who thinks he's better than everyone else just because he's rich. i kind of got the same feeling from some of the security when i was there as well. I was there on a wednesday where there wasn't a lot of people sitting in the chairs in the bidders area but for whatever reason there was a crowd of people blocking the walkway on the side of the chairs and i was trying to get out of the tent and the only other way to go was to cross the large empty floor in front of the stage. well just as i was about to cross it some security guard ran up to me as if i was about to plant a bomb and was like "what are you doing? you aren't a bidder, you cannot be there" to which i replied "i was just walking across that area to avoid the large crowd blocking the other walkway on the side of the seats" and he was like "well you cannot walk there unless you're a bidder"

i should have just walked through there anyway and been like "well i thought maybe i smelled smoke so i was trying to evacuate safely and not cause a panic by pushing through those other people"

I dont see how thats a terrible deal...he bought a new car for $16K. I cant think of any other new car on the market for $16K besides a Kia. Not that I would even want it but its not the stupidest thing ever.

Now the question is who the hell would buy a V6 Firebird new in 1993 and park it thinking it would appreciate?????

Buying that bird is about as wonky as another auction I saw where someone bought a Plymouth Prowler. Well, to each their own I guess...

Well Barrett Jackson is great for one thing, driving up prices of cars. People will bid outrageous amounts for some cars and then the rest of the market starts to try and follow suit.

I still can't believe that 1990 tbird SC 35th anniv car sold for $1650 ($1500 + 10% commission)

it looked pretty clean. i would have bought that for $1650

that's $238.80 a mile. My 94 v-6 should be worth about $61,611,940.29

That's a good point about buying a new car for $16k. I just watched the auction and the winner was an older guy who maybe bought it for his son or daughter, or even grandkid. I would much prefer to see a close relative own that Firebird instead of a Kia or similar cheap car plus it is so different from anything new you would buy today. Obviously all of us would like to see it have the V8 in there but it does make sense from an older person's perspective. There sure were enough other bidders driving up the price as well. The buyer didn't bid up the price alone. Interesting auction.

exactly. same goes for 95% of the bidders they show on tv also. i havent watched this bullshit in 3 years because of that fact. none of the bidders are actual 'car guys'. this is nothing more then an elitist middle aged yuppie pissing contest, all vying for the title of 'i paid the most for this car.'

another thing about craig......ever notice on the big days, friday/saturday, hes dressed up in a suit, hair done, etc. yet on every other day, if hes even there at all, he looks like he just rolled out of bed and is such a bother to him to simply BE there.

the most disgusting thing ive seen on the show was a few years ago.....some bald mr. clean looking ******* was bidding well over 1 million for some car. he had his obvious extremely young trophy wife sitting next to him, and he was eating a little cup of yogurt. and yet he couldnt be bothered to up his bid every time someone else outbid him. he was so busy bullshitting to someone else, every time the bid assistant got his attention to raise his bid, he looked out this side of his eye, nodded, and turned away again. i believe it was the year with brock yates in the booth, and even he mentioned something about this douchebag. i can only hope someone saw the broadcast and kicked him in the ***** outside the tent.

I was shocked about the firebird too.....
but look at the 35 anny 02' Trans Am that sold very close to that money that week also
it was #353 sold for $16500.00 ..... what a deal!!!
Just shows we need to do some thinning of the heard,,, I hope his gas petal will stick on his toyota corolla and he creams into a guard rail.
