the predator has better tunes, more hp/tq gains, data logging, offers more adjustability, plus the ability to get custom tunes created by diablosport CMR custom tuners and store up to 5 of them in the predator....

Info about the U7198 Predator you'd need for your car can be found here:

http://diablosport.com/index.php?mod...display&pid=67

Items you can adjust with it, include:

#
Timing Table 1000-1800rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Timing Table 2000-4000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Timing Table 4000-7000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Fuel Table 2000-4000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Fuel Table 4000-7000rpm (+/- 20%)
#
Idle (+ 500rpm / -300rpm)
#
Speed Limiters (adjustable for Trucks Only - it is already removed in the preset tunes for the cars)
#
Rev Limiters
#
RPM Shift Points
#
MPH Up and Downshifts
#
Shift Timing
#
Shift Pressure
#
Cooling Fan ON and OFF temperatures
#
Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
#
Torque Management abuse mode time limit ON/OFF
#
% torque reduction vs. RPM ON/OFF
#
Upshift torque reduction (all gears) ON/OFF
#
Adjust for different injector size
#
Adjust COT enable temperature

Also take a look at EFILive and HPTuners. Don't limit yourself to a handheld device.

I've got it on my laptop with Vista. There were some "added" instructions with my new DST. I had to set a couple of perameters to run in "Compatability Mode". I works tho.

would a diablo still work if I swapped to an LS6? I know the LS1 and LS6 share the same tuner...What would have to be done? Would it recognize the LS6 and tune accordingly?

Yeah, we can send you a tune for the LS6 that you can load to the Predator as a custom tune.

One more thing Mike. If I got a Diablo for my truck, would I have to go where I got it tuned with EFI Live to get it taken off first before I could use the Diablo? Or will the Diablo override the EFI Live tune?

It could get you into trouble if the EFILive tuner changed up the OS on you...

I got my car calibrated today because of a pretty high ticket i got, he said my speedo is off at about 11mph up around 92 or so. The guy said I would have to buy a chip and tuner in order to correct the speedo. Is that accurate? Or does the Predator just plug into the OBD and take care of everything? Thanks in advance.
I'm thinking about buying the Predator at least to show the Judge that "Hey, I know I was wrong, but 1. I didn't think I was going THAT fast, and 2. I'm making the effort to correct the issue."

Default diablo

turbo?
i used the diablo before the turbo with a vararam intake and slp loudmoth.i could not get a twin turbo ls6 done by remote so i had it done with EFI live first,HPTuners next.i bought a CMR (yet to try, middle of motor rebuild)
but i use the diablo to back up and tweak my turbo tune!!
allot easier than a lap top in the car when you can not get 93 oct on a trip or you run out of meth. out of the glove box and presto back done the road.
everyone with a modified tune should have one.the connivance is worth the price of admission.
i did buy hptuners pro and after 2 month sold it.

i have a preditor for every car i can.

so if your vehicle has efi live on it, you can override it and/or take the efi live tune off and put the diablo tune on? I'm still not clear on the issue...

Default tool is dumb

i took off a efi and hpt tune as a backup.i edited them and installed.the worry about a stock tune is BS.you can have the car reflashed stock at any dealer and start fresh.if your mechanic as the snap on kit(1600.00)he can do it cheaper.i had it a while back.
the diablo is way easier than a lap top in the car.

you took the efi live and hp tunes off with the diablo? That's the question, the guy that tunes my vehicles with efi live travels everywhere for work and I can only catch him a couple times a month maybe so it's hard to get him to take the tunes off. I would love a diablo for the convenience but love his tunes at the same time, I don't know what to do.

EFILive and HPT are not tunes... they are the editing/flashing tools... they give the tuner the option to lock the tune;

if the tuner locks the tune/PCM then only he can unlock it... the PCM/tune can't be read or written while it is locked.

My understanding is the Diablo is not removing the EFILive/HPT-edited tune, it is adding its edits to the current tune.

Default couldn't have said it better

couldn't have said it better
and, the tuners who lock are not your friend.A buddy had is SC vert tuned by the local "guru" and after having a 6.0 motor done by Texas speed and a shop in bradington Fl finish it up and tune it,i should say try to tune .they found it locked. what a mess new ecu and the lot.
like the man said just tools, time learning is the hard part.

i still think for what it does pretator is best .

i will tune my twin turbo with mine someday

ask 06 mntess about the new release!!!!!!!
said to be the size of a iphone
