I am building a 89 lx stang, with a 6.0l lq9 with a ls1 cam(02), ls1 heads stock, and a victor jr carb setup, 750 holley hp carb, 700R4 built 2500stall, and 8.8 rear with 3.55 gears. i have it gutted only 1 seat, the car weights around 2750 with me in it, how fast do you guys think it will go in the 1/4?

I am also thinking of putting a 100 shot on it also, what do you think?

On motor I don't see any reason why it wouldn't run in the 11.80 range? Maybe .70's, but right aroung 11.80 is what I'm going to guess. Then again it all depends on where you are running the car, elevation, and corrected altitude are always the biggest demons!! Now on a 100 shot of spray, I'm going to say 11.00's, maybe a 10.90. You asked, and I answered. It might do something entirely different too. What tire are you going to run? Good luck with the 700R4, I know there are a lot of them going down drag strips, but I personally hate them. I burned up two in an 85 TA I used to have, with not enough torque to get out of it's own way!! How about some pics of this bad bitch? Oh, one more thing, I would really invest in a cam!! I have a 5.3 with a Lunati cam 230/237 duration @ .050 lift, 544/540 lift, and a little bit of work done to the stock heads, and it made 486 on the motor, 615 on a 125 shot of spray. Stock LS cams are tiny!! I think most of the factory Z06 cams are like 204 @ .050, I'm sure a LS Camaro cam would be smaller. When all else fails, slap a turbo on the bitch and make 900!!!!

I hate to comment on these type of threads because theres so many things that will determan how the car will run but,,, I would have to say that if you take the time to tune it and get it working good there is enough there to run low 11s @ 120. My friend has an 89LX that has a 302 in it with Explorer heads and intake with a stock cam he makes right at 300 whp. His car is almost 3100 and he always runs between 12.0 and 12.2 with a best of 11.9 and his MPH is always about 111/112.
Your car is lighter and should make quite a bit more power then his.

My 01 WS6 went 114 mph @ 3650 and the motor was dead stock. My only mods were MAC headers and Y pipe with the stock cat back,Lid,filter,and a translater. Your car is about 800 pounds less and you should make more power.
