Default Sometimes reverse doesnt work.

I have a 2002 z28 M6 with 86k on it and every once in a while my car doesnt move when in reverse, it just makes a sound like someone shaking a bag full of aluminum cans. If I take it out of reverse and put in back in it goes just like normal. I have been driving the car for a few months now and I have only had it happen to me 5 or 6 times, I just want to know if there is something I should start budgeting for just in case.

Thanks
Derek

Does it pop out or bang when you let the Clutch out the first time you put it into Reverse?

not at all, it feels like its in gear and stays in gear. once i let the clutch out it just makes a rattling grinding type noise. I surely hope I dont have to rebuild the transmission this soon.

Sounds like it's not letting Reverse engage all the way a few times..

do you think that would have anything to do with the reverse lockout solenoid? or should I start saving for a tranny rebuild now.
