Can I make 1 good T56 out of these 2?
I have a '99 Camaro T56 (M6) and a Trans axle T56 out of an '05 Z06 Corvette. The M6 pops out of reverse, but the rest of it seems ok. The Z06 T56 works properly. Can I swap the guts out of the Z06 into the m6 case? I noticed the input shaft looks the same (from the outside, haven't taken either apart yet) I understand the newer T56's have larger syncro's/gears/shafts. Anyone know what would be involved to make this work? Or is it not worth it and would it be better to just sell the Z06 transaxle? (it's complete all the way to the bellhousing)

It's possible, but you'll need additional parts. Also, the Z06 unit will change the gear ratios to an MN12 version, so you'll basically be left with a GTO clone. You'll need to get a GTO mainshaft, and reuse the case and small parts from the Fbody unit.
I've built a couple, but try to use the non-Z06 C5 units since they retain the MM6 gear ratios of the Fbody.

Another caveat with the M12 doners, in 2006 GM updated the 1-2 synchro snapring to a wider 2pc setup. Doing conversions requires alot more custom machine work than just swapping parts.
