Who's Firehawk?
Man this was one of the cleanest Firehawks I've ever seen. Curious what's done to it since the license plate said "RD Race" or something like that. Anyway, clean looking car!

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
It is a pretty rare car indeed, a total of 7 White Hardtop Formula Firehawks from 99 to 01...i can't tell if there were any in 02, the numbers aren't broken down like they were for the other years and I'm not concerned enough to bother anyone about it.
The plate says 'RD RACE' and it's not really ready for the plate, but i wanted to get it before anyone else does. It was registered to a guy for almost 20 years and when i checked on it had stopped paying on it 6 weeks before, so i had to snag it right then.
I am a big road racing fan, always have been, a few years back i picked up a 350z and had plans of going road racing with it but it was just so slow, it handled great but i needed a little more power.
I had a buddy that was working at Subaru and he had a STI and i had driven it a few times and i really liked it so i was thinking about getting a one, but when i was up there about to sign for it i realized that i could buy a C5 Z06 for the same price, so i did. I had it set up to be reliable during the typical 20 minute sessions that we have at the track, didn't make crazy power but had a lot of stuff done to it.
I got laid off and sold the car, picked up a Silver Hardtop SS.
I was in save money mode so i did the bolt on thing with some of the spare parts i had from my first Firebird. I got hit at a red light in this car and it was totaled. Here is what it looked like.
Back in October my SS got picked off at the movies in Allen, luckily i had taken almost everything off of it by that time in preparation for lowering the price to get rid of it. It was definitely a blessing in disguise, aside from a few hundred bucks in the console, some cd's, a garage door opener and my insurance card with my address on it...i didn't have anything in the car. I have always wanted another hardtop Formula so i looked in all the usual places a few times a week just to know if i should take less money for my car to be able to scoop up something i really wanted. So when my car got stolen i immediately sent a deposit on the Firehawk that i had found recently and after a few weeks when the car didn't turn up i paid the balance and had it sent down. So now i not only have another hardtop Formula, but it's a Firehawk.
If i had the scratch for it I'd be out there every weekend in something more serious, but I'm on a budget so my daily is going to serve double duty. If anyone cares, i can write down my plans for the car...but basically it will be set up for road racing...so that is why i have that plate.
Here is a link to my Flickr set for that car, it's mainly before and after shots when i was cleaning it up...which i still haven't finished. I need to get under it, yank the trans and rear and clean up all the sheet metal and repaint the rear.
Anywho, it's my new money pit.

I had some Volk CE28's on the 350Z for about 2 weeks and took it in to Nissan for a window motor, then ended up doing a fuel filler hose recall effed up the two passenger side wheels by letting them fall on their face...why they needed to take them of is beyond me. They had the repaired by one of the local wheel repair places and i could always tell so i never put them back on the car...lost 1000 bucks on those wheels

I had some really rare parts on that car (not the wheels), it was pretty sick and it was fun to drive...except in a straight line. I wish i had some video of it, it had a Tilton Clutch, 8lb flywheel and 8lb disc assembly, it litterally rev'd like a Carrera GT. If i hit the gas for about a second, maybe a little less, it would wrap out so hard the rev limited couldn't catch it and it would swing over about 1k past it, hahahaha.
Here is a video of it on another car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvwxUBJ_2JU
