1/4" rear end lift....how to... i recently installed my BMR 1.2" springs and felt it lowered the rear of the car a little too much compared to the front springs. for those who are gonna ask...YES the isolators were installed
was trying to figure out how to raise the rear end a small amount.
ALSO i had the normal passenger side lean, being about 1/8" lower than the driver's side.
then i decided to try something that guys have been doing for years. the "hose mod". however instead of running the hose instead of the isolators, i ran BOTH.
step 1 - even the car out:
i pulled the passenger spring and isolators out. then i took 12" of 1/4" fuel hose and cut a slit in it lengthwise. this allowed me to slip the hose over the spring's first coil.
i didn't want to use larger hose and slide it on the end like the heater hose mod because i was worried the thicker hose would not allow the spring to slide into the "cup" in the isolator. basically thinking the wall of the 1/4" hose would be thinner...not sure if it is.
the with this done, the spring fit perfectly in the isolator cup as it should stock.
had i installed it like this, i'm sure it would have evened my car out. it measured right around 1/8-3/16" lower on that side.
HOWEVER i wanted to raise the rear all together as well. so i kept going.
Step 2- raise the rear end 1/4":
using more of the same 1/4" hose, i took 12" of the hose and layed it inside the coil pocket on the isolator. that length almost makes it around the first coil, which i figured was enough.
then i put the spring in the isolator and held it on with 2 zip-ties to make it easier to keep everything together as i put it in the car.
the hose compressed inbetween the spring and the isolator with the weight of the car, but it gave a small increase in height i was looking for.
the passenger side looked something like this illistration, while the driver side just had the upper solid hose

minutes after putting it on the ground...it measured 27" exactly to the top of the wheel well.
previously the car measured right around 26 5/8"
my guess is the hose will compress over the next few days....i'll remeasure it then and post back.
i thing the car looks much better, as the rear is not as low as it was. its amazing how such small changes can really make the difference.

Did it ever settle and you get a re-measurement? I have god knows what lowering springs on my car and the tires have rubbed no matter what I've tried. Rolled both lips back there but they still rub slightly. Going to try and add the hose to my springs and see if that helps enough.

Can you get pics of what you did on the car. I understand the hose mod part but not the part about putting hose in the coil pocket on the isolator. Sorry just can't put the picture in my head and make sense of it. I've been wanting to raise the rear of my car just a tad.
