I learned my lesson the harder way. As I live in a dusty environment, my previous RKsport lid never sealed properly and when cleaning my TB, I shined the light inside my intake and noticed there is dust that had caked itself all over the inside walls and runners.
Luckily as fate would have it the LS1 has a nasty habit of coating the intake with blow-by oil from the shitty PCV setup. The dust had mostly stuck to the oiled runners and there was no damage to the piston walls or rings.
I had to take the intake out to completely, clean it, and now I'm running FIPK GEN II with no more problems.
Amazing how a factory defect ended up saving my motor!!!

There is like 2 raised spots on your Maf on the front side if you look at it you can see it take and mark it with a magic marker what needs to be trimed, trim it all and take a heat gun ( I used one of out PVC welders we weld Plastic pipe with, it blow red hot stream of air) and heat up till plyable and workable. Stick it on there while hot and make it fit. Use some gloves and keep pressure on the plastic where it goes on the MAF and it will fit like a glove. I have some pic of what it looks like if someone can host them or i will E-mail them to u. Hope this helps Justin Hagerman

I had to use radiator hose repair tape to seal up my trouble spots. Everything is tight, and halfway descent looking. But it was a ***** to get everything sealed up, and not look half assed. Great nitrous kit, all the way up til you have to start hacking your lid. Then it's a bitch.
