thread in injector bungs?

thread in injector bungs? is there a reason you don't see anybody doing this? it's usually pretty costly to have a manifold machined to have injector bungs welded in. was thinking it would be easy to set up the drill press to drill the bosses at the proper angles, tap the threads for pipe threads then thread the bungs to screw in. anybody see any problems with this?
