HOOKER Headers
Ok guys this is the situation. I just bought me some LT headers and had a question. Are the headers where the exhaust gasket goes is suppose to be flat? Because the ones I got are not. They all have various side lips that extend pass the flange where all the bolts connect to.
The pacesetter that I had before both had flat surfaces for the gasket.

I can't post pics right now but I should when I get home. I bought these from speedtweekers and left a message hopefully they will get back to me today. I do believe though that where the gasket mates to the header should be flat. It looks like maybe they over welded on each pipe and didn't surface it down.

I believe you are talking about the flange that connects the primaries to each other and also where the header mates to the head (with the exhaust gasket in between, of course.)
Yes. It should most definintely be flat.
I would still like to see a picture and hope you still plan on posting one.
