Default will i need to flycut?????

Im putting 243s on my car and having them deck .020 for 11:1 on my stock bottom end ls1. Im planning on running a trex cam and im wondering if im gonna have to flycut the pistons????

I don't think you would have to. My last engine had a bigger cam and I decked the heads .035 and went to a thinner gasket without needing to flycut. Depending on how much preload you have right now on the lifters, you might need shorter pushrods. When you mill the heads, you increase the amount of preload on the lifters.

The last T-rex we did had .070 clearance on the intake valve with stock heads.So I would expect to cut the pistons.Of course there is probly alot of people that don't and run .020 clearance.I'll bet the valves are making there own reliefs.

That cam is designed to BARELY clear for stock H/G specs.. No way I would I would ever run that setup...... You better measure if you decide to try it.... Ask TR (shane) it's their cam....

If you decide to do this, the best thing to do would check for clearance.

if i ran the 243's undecked would i still have to flycut??? An anyone happen to know wat the compresstion would be with those 243's on my stock ls1 bottom end???

I might hav my hands on a set of prc 5.3 stage 2.5, with those wood i need to flycut???An wood my 7.4 pushrods still work??? thks

With that Cam you want to get the compression high like 11.4-1 to get the most out of it.Cutting the pistons for clearance is no big deal.
