Cutouts sound like crap. They are louder than duals in a bad kinda way. It sounds like a old farm truck that cut off his mufflers at wot. At idle they sound good but when you're on it, it sounds like crap. It will backfire when off the throttle and make you sick after a while. They make a little bit of power but a good exhaust will do the trick without all the headaches. Some say duals are too loud and a cutout is louder bot pops and backfires. For a true muscle car sound go with duals.

Are you a girl by chance? lol Sorry, that was uncalled for. You can't have the best of both worlds with ONE set up. Pick your poison man.

No. Sorry i like to have a comfortable ride where i dont have to scream at the person beside me to talk to them. I like it loud at WOT, that and the hp gains is the reason why im getting the ecutout. Its not too bad with my catback but the TD's were ridiculous. My cousin's SS with the hooker catback sounds great when your just driving but it also sounds good at WOT. Not as loud as mine and others, but still sounds good. Im content with my setup, i just want a cutout. I dont need my car to sounds like a sprint cup car ALL the time so everyone knows its fast..

old lt1 i picked up 5hp 3lbs of torque.
my old 99z 7hp, 5lbs torque
My c5 corvette, i didnt dyno it, but i have dual cutouts, and at times it can be real obnoxious because they are place within the H pipe but right under the drivers seat., I then picked up a X pipe and did a muffler delete, sounds much better.

Well, the point of a cutout, isn't to sound better... its to bypass the restrictive catback or TD's.. I know they sound like crap. I didnt want one for the sound.. my car sounds mean as hell as it is, i just want to pick up a few ponies that doesnt effect the motor.
