who knows Tahoes?
soon ill be needing an SUV with some power and 4wd, so it made since to look at the Tahoe along with others.
I can find over a dozen 4wd tahoes, under 20 grand, under 100K miles, within 25 miles from me. All of them are the generation of 02-05.
My question is.... why is it that the 07 is almost double in value of an 05? I cannot find a single 07 for under 30 w/ 4wd.
Does anyone know why the newest generation is so much more expensive?
also any random advise or reviews are welcome. thanks guys.

prob cause it's the "new" body style... you can prob go to a dealer ship and talk them down to 25-30K for a 2010... if i were you i would get like an 05 model 5.3... i have a 02 with 150K on it and it drives almost like new, couple of nic nacks could be replaced... only thing i've HAD to replace is idler and tensioner pullies, water pump, and my alt. is going out as we speak ... but as far as specs i think the new 5.3's have like 10-20 more HP and a big ol' body to go with it... they're nice though!

supply and demand...
everyone wants to step up to the new body stlye, meanwhile nobody is really in the market for the older ones so theyre cheaper
and sorry 02CAMAROSSLE, i work at a dealership in service but i know theres no way your gonna get a 2010, esp. a 4wd for under 30k..
best thing to look for is the common problems with the older 2000-2006 models is the
1. steering shaft clunk
2. intake gaskets leaking, along with knock sensors full of rust
3. fuel pump, from people running on "E" they like to go out around 100k
4. instrument cluster gauges sticking
5. radio cd player stuck
6. Etc......
Looks like alot of problems but they are good vehicles that you can beat on forever and they keep going, good luck

that is uesfull info. anything to know about the new generation?
i just went and test drove an 07. it was an ltz z71 for 25grand... but i used a few context clues to determine it was a work truck... so... when it is too good to be true it probably is.... and i backed out.

the only real common problems with the new body style ones have been the lifter issues on some motors wearing out and taking out the camsahft with it.. the good news is all 07+ have 100k mile powertrain that covers the repair.. again not to common just really the only thing ive seen go wrong on them
