Decided on 408 Stroker, need help with the top end
I decided on an HKE 408 for the shortblock. Callies bottom end/Wiseco -2cc pistons. Now I need to start deciding what I want to run for the top end. I will most likely get in touch with Pat G for the cam choice and have on spec'd out.
For head choice I'm looking at the TFS 235's or a CNC'd L92 setup. There is a price difference in the two, I'm just not sure what the performance difference is. I'll run the Fast LSXR intake.
I'll also be running a 1 7/8 header and probably a 150-200 shot. Looking to get 500-550 HP out of the setup and 500 TQ N/A, and 700/750 on the spray. Hope this is attainable. Also looking for a mid 10 quarter mile out of it on motor, maybe dip into a high 9 on the spray.
Anyways, help with opinions on what heads to run,
Thanks!

Talk with Blanco99ss or Erik at HKE. He can spec a cam for whatever setup you go with. As for me, I'm gonna have him build my 427 with the TFS 235cc heads and his choice of cam. I'm looking for 9's on motor.
Trust in Erik to get the job done with whatever setup you go with. I'd have him do the whole engine IMO. But if your not and would like to assemble the heads and cam and intake part of it, Just tell him what your looking for and he'll fix ya up. IMO... "TFS 235's" FTW!
Good Luck

I'm building a similar setup right now. Here's what I'm using:
I thought about the L92/LS3 retangle port heads but decided against them.
TFS 225cc heads prepped by TEA
Custom Pat G cam
Yella Terra Roller Rockers
Comp Double Roller Timing set
LS7 lifters
Melling oil pump
Eagle crank
Eagle rods
wiseco -2cc pistons
FAST 102/102
Texas Speed 1 7/8" headers
Magnaflow 3" full exhaust
My quarter mile goals and horespower goals are the same as you stated.
Here's some pictures of my build in progress. I just put the heads on Monday.

you should be able to hit 500 easy with any of those setups, I did mine with 205 AFR milled to have 11.5:1 I dyno 498 rwhp/ 490 rwtq with an ls6 intake and crappy pacesetter headers.
Erik did my setup and said I should have no problem with that goal and made things happen. he assembled the top end for me and made sure to have it good to go, all I had to do was bolt on the accessories and put it in the car.
I am running a 92/92 fast right now, and will be ordering ARH soon and see what happens, but the car runs strong as hell and is very consistent in different dynos.
good luck with what ever you decide.

With the LS3 heads you are still limited on intake choices. The Fast intake is still not a proven performer. The rocker arm choices are also some what limited, with any shaft system costing $$$. The Trick Flows are a proven combo, and the castings are more durable then the GM pieces(stonger and thicker). I went with the L-92's because they were different. Price wise my top end including the heads was more expensive then an after market cath. set up. By the time I added porting , springs, and quality valves to the stock castings I have over 2500 in them. I would have changed the valves and springs on the after market castings. I would have bought a bare casting.
