hey everyone this isnt a sale thread or anything so please dont move it or lock it....i was just wondering what you all think i could get for my 98 Z28....
description is in sig. Car is in excellent shape inside and out, everything works correctly and i just installed a Sony stereo. Paint is near flawless except for a couple small normal wear and tear scratches....VERY CLEAN.....just turned 57K miles on it....
once again im not selling it yet so this isnt a sale thread...im just looking for a good asking price because i MAY be forced to sell it....i cant enjoy the car anymore.....everywhere i go, the police come down on me hard when i havent even done anything....ive gone through the hassle of having two tickets thrown out because of lack of evidence. i just got another ticket i didnt deserve (i know everyone says that but im serious) and its becoming crippling....
I love this car but its just not fun when a cop is tailing you every couple blocks waiting for you to do something stupid...sorry for the long post, just needed to vent in addition to needing opinioins....thanx (enclosed pics prove cars condition)

The market sucks for these cars right now. I saw a 2001 model with under 20,000 miles with perfect paint and bone stock not even sell for cheap money (think it was around 18k).
Even if you try to sell the car for 12k it probaly will take forever to sell if it even does. Your better off just keeping it until the market comes around for these cars then get rid of it or just keep it.

First off, nice lookin car man but black headlight covers on a NBM car looks retarded. Pull those bad boys off, throw on some clear corners and that'd be one sweet lookin ride.
Anyway...I'm guessing that you draw so much attention because of that fact that you have LTs, an ORY, and a Loudmouth which is (correct me if I'm wrong) quite possible the loudest exhaust combination possible on an LS1. Maybe you should try to quiet the thing down a little instead of getting rid of it? Some of those CarChemistry inserts or an actual muffler perhaps?
The only other thing that could possibly be drawing attention to you (unless you drive like a maniac) would be the headlights...but that seems pretty unlikely. It would really suck to have to sell such a nice car for that reason.

believe it or not its not actually my exhaust....that was a fairly recent installation and this crap has been going on for a long time now....and honestly NO i dont drive like a maniac at all....in fact, i have no points on my license right now and the ticket i just got was actually my first speed violation.....i did however discuss the incident with a friend of mine whos a park police officer and he said theyre may have been a big mistake....ill keep ya all posted and thanx for the input so far....

I think you will see more money if you sell it in stock trim, take your mods off and sale them seperately, this is if you have all of your stock parts. Good Luck on the sale.

believe me i dont want to sell it....its without question my favorite thing that i own....i have a very good chance of getting this ticket thrown out since the procedure in which it was given was completely wrong according to a lawyer and a federal police officer. It's also impossible to prove what the officer claims i did. If i do get out of this one without getting hit too bad (if i lose straight off my license will most likely be suspended, and no its not a drag racing ticket), I may keep it yet. I'm not sure yet. whatever the case, I know i was in the right and it sucks so much that this guy may cripple my record and force me to sell my car just so he could write out a ticket.... :( :(

btw to all the police officers out there....im not implying u all write tickets just for the sake of writing tickets so dont take it that way....but there are bad apples out there with badges....
also....Is a citation still legal if it lacks the officer's signature altogether??? he never signed this ticket....i know its a technicality but i gotta try and get out of this....i didnt even do it... :bang:

Hey man I know exactly how you feel, in the last 2 months I've had 2 tickets of more than 10 over, on was 47 in a 35 :eek2: and the other was 88 in a 70 on the highway. Then like 2 nights ago in norman I got reckless driving because I spun the tires shifting into 2nd from 1st :eek2: Im going to have to try to get this one reduced and maybe go to driving school to get some points off. I think there is just something about f-bodies that attract cops. My friend who drives a 99 SS who has already been to driving school told me that he parked next to 2 SS's, 2 Z-28's, and a Trans Am when he went to driving school. Isn't that ridiculous? All I have to say is FTP!!
